Maybe add Kiora's Follower s for the extra mill? Doesnt do much on its own, but use it to untap a wall or something, then extra 6 or 7 more mill.

Have you considered Courser of Kruphix? It's good for chump blocking, has decent toughness for milling in this deck, and it can help get mana out faster and keep you from having mana problems. Great deck though +1.

Minelia5 I am really liking this deck!

What would you use as a sideboard? I would like to take this to FNM, but I don't want it to meet a bad matchup and not have an answer.

I like the deck! I've been working on something similar and haven't gotten all of my answers worked out yet, but I'm getting there! I think you should look at Profaner of the Dead. He's a really great board wipe option in this kind of deck, and a steal for his CMC. Especially if you happen to have Fruit of the First Tree on the creature you exploit! +1 for your work so far! Good luck with the deck!

I forgot to mention... Disciple of Deceit is a great way to squeak out the cards you need. Great in combo with Phenax.

I've loved a good sultai Phenax shell since Theros first came out. Prophet of Kruphix into Nighthowler into Phenax is nearly a one-turn full mill clock. I push those three as far as they'll go in my version of the deck.

I cut out all my non-permanent spells so as to best support devotion for Phenax. So for creature control I have to rely on things like King Macar, the Gold-Cursed, Archfiend of Depravity, and Ashiok, Nightmare Weaver.

I also go deeper on card filtering to dig for my combo, with things like Dakra Mystic, Sultai Soothsayer, and lately Sidisi, Undead Vizier. I'd certainly prefer these cards over fairly neutral walls.

For my personal taste, I like squeezing in a couple Whip of Erebos and a couple Torrent Elemental. They're not fully on the mill plan but they're good defensive cards that are relevant when you want to switch to a beatdown plan.

I don't mind caryatid for ramping, but I prefer Kiora's Follower because it really kicks Phenax into high gear. I wish he was 3 toughness hexproof too though.

The biggest problem though is the manabase. It's so important not to miss a land drop and lands that come into play tapped are extra punishing. Mana Confluence and other pain lands are important, and the trilands and the lifegain lands are almost unplayable. Urborg is a necessity.

Good luck with the deck.

Mind Sculpt fits right in here. Also, what about Grindclock for a finisher if the board stalls with you having a bunch of 0/X's but no phenax to make them useful

This is amazing, I was thinking about making a deck just like this except with my own little things added. But this would be incredibly fun to play with. +1 from me
