I'd side it in against esper or jeskai control as they don't run many creatures but do rely on planeswalkers, and take out the Ulcerate .

fairly situational, i know, but flavor is worth sacrificing for sometimes, even if it is just Garry flavor.

so first thing- take out 3 swamps, 1 plains....add in 3 windswept and 1 urborg.

Personally I like whip mainboard and Vess in the side. I would most certainly think about Sorin maindeck as well. He is very strong and something people just have to deal with which oftentimes will end up saving a similiar threat.

It seems you're having some success in your meta but as someone who has been playing every single week I notice my meta shifts quite a bit from week to week.

How did this deck do before you added in the white? I'm considering making just a black and green deck. I liked your idea of running Garruk, Apex Predator and Liliana Vess and using Vess to tutor for the things you need. If Garruk sticks he's nasty to deal with. I'm playing a tournament tomorrow with either my blue, black, green control or a black and green deck I'm working on with some of the same cards, but using Elvish Mystic and other ramp cards to ramp into the cards I need. The control deck I've been playing is a work in progress, if you have any suggestions I'd be happy to hear them.

to do g/b, up the saytrs, up the caryatids, apex's, mystics, and bile blight. Also worldwaker can work well, as would more thoughtseize and nykthos. I want to stick with more basics because I have found no issue with mana.. plus one urborg is enough. I will take out a swamp for a heath when I get one. Sorin i'm debating... Can you get by without the Satyr? Or are they a must for b/g? How many Apex predators 3 and Vess 1?

ah, saytr can be used for more mana fixing i.e. dual lands if you need, as well as nykthos! 3 apex and 1 vess, but you could do 2 apex, 1 vess, 1 worldwaker if you so choose

I don't play Abzan, but I think I would give this deck a shot. I really like your combination of both Garruk, Apex Predator + Liliana Vess . I would be interested to see an Ajani Steadfast with this, or perhaps added to the sideboard.

So yea, Garruk got messed up by Lili and the chain veil, then she took off. Then he fought Jace on Ravnica demanding he tell him where Lili was so he could get her to reverse it. He nearly killed Jace. Now he is fucking shit up after losing his mind, being overpowered by the curse, losing connection with nature, but increasing his desire to hunt. He now views planeswalkers as the ultimate prey and every kill worsens his affliction and pushing him closer to becoming a demon along the same line as Ob Nixilis. Jace found him a remedy, but it is yet to be seen whether it is a permanent fix or just a temporary thing.

I pulled a foil Sorin, Solemn Visitor out of a free pack that my fnm place gives out each week.

This deck isn't Cruel Control, no matter how cruel it is or how not fun it is to play against. Cruel Control is Modern-legal UBR control that has a finisher of Cruel Ultimatum.

2 Things:

1) Your mana base is flawless

2) I feel like if you're worried about getting hit by other creatures or that Garruk will get pinged by other creatures, a big deterrent is Hornet Queen. Every player who sees this hit the board abso-friggin-lutely hates it and pressures them even more and makes them feel like they can't do anything without dying.
