lucal13: Typically you don't play Oona in a deck like this until you're about to combo off, making it almost impossible for Oona to be taken. Not to mention at competitive level play, creature steal spells are not very common. The issue with Geth as a backup is that you're relying on them having stuff in the graveyard (fairly common I know but still work factoring in). Also, outside of combo, Geth is quite clunky, especially when you could just run something like Exsanguinate which kills all your opponents on the spot.

Aggro-Blaster, lucal13, thanks for the suggestions. It's funny how all the cards you guys mentioned were once part of the deck. Even Geth was part of a very early version of it back when Lazav was still its commander.

Although most of those cards look good on paper, they did not quite perform as well as I would like them to in actual games. They lands, in particular, are far too situational to be worth their slot in the deck. The coffers, for example, would only be giving me value with 4 or more swamps in play. With the deck normally winning sometime between turns 3 and 6, the Coffers more often than not ends up being a dead card.

The monolith combo is great but in a 4-man pod, it requires 3 more colored mana (outside the infinite mana it produces) to cast Oona and an additional 1 more for every opponent we want to mill making it a bit too mana intensive for my taste. I see a lot of decks make effective use of this combo by going the Ad Nauseam route but I felt going creature-based made the deck a bit more resilient (largely due to graveyard recursion).

Right now I am thinking about removing Merchant Scroll since the deck does not rely heavily on Sorcery spells. I am considering replacing it with Night Dealings or other cheap cards that will give me some card advantage early in the game.

I am also thinking of replacing Daze with either Unsubstantiate or Spell Pierce. What do you guys think?

Oops. I was thinking of a different card. The one that costs mana symbol 1mana symbol b and lets me draw two cards and lose 2 life.

Wait. How do you win on turn 3 with Mana Crypt,Helm of Awakening, and then Top after playing Future Sight?

You draw the entire deck and either proceed to play an infinite mana combo or play Sickening Dreams.

You can sub Sickening Dreams with Tendrils of Despair if you dislike dying with the rest of the group. :)

With your artifacts and low cost spells you should really consider Paradox Engine.

Agreed. I am actually using it as an alternative to Helm of Awakening in the storm combo. I have not updated this deck for a while now since my focus is on my Leovold deck. Any suggestions on what to replace though?

Personally out of everything I would drop heartless summoning. By my experience it doesn't help nearly as much as mana rocks and having the ability to recycle rocks seems like it could net you more. Let me know what you think.

Heartless summoning is surprisingly effective in this deck. It allows me to combo off a lot earlier and/or leaves me some space for countermagic.

I have tried to take it out countless times but it just performs so well. If I were to put the Engine in, it would probably be for Scroll Rack or Crucible of Worlds. The said cards have been underwhelming as far as their synergy to the deck is concerned.

That's understandable. Unless your meta is heavy in land destruction, I'd suggest crucible then.
