I used to play blue & control heavily back in the day and wanted to make a W/U deck for standard that features Serra Avenger . I think she's an awesome card that doesn't fit into my other decks. v1.0. Comments welcome.

Idea is to combine the use of counter magic to prevent things I don't like from coming out while going over the top for the win.

Serra Avenger is the main instrument for winning, with evasion and the fact that she only costs 2 to cast allows me to get her out and still keep blue available for counter magic. She is backed up with Silverblade Paladin (for extra damage) and Nearheath Pilgrim (for lifelink), and Sublime Archangel for exalted boost.

Void Stalker serves as a way to control the board and promote favorable matchups. Cyclonic Rift serves a similar role in board control.

Clone has always been a favorite card of mine and serves a dynamic range of purposes. Also thinking about standard options for Control Magic.

Ghost Quarter is specifically to destroy Cavern of Souls as W/U has no land destruction (if only I could play Strip Mine or Wasteland in standard... sigh)

Since creatures seem to be the main way to defeat your opponent in standard, counters are shaped with efficient anti-creature in mind ( Remove Soul & Power Sink err.. .I mean Essence Scatter and Syncopate).

Since I can't play Time Walk or Ancestral Recall , Temporal Mastery and Sphinx's Revelation serve as standard equivalents.

Still need a sideboard developed, right now more specific counter magic. Courtly Provocateur serves as a way to wreck exalted and to kill off decks with weenies -not sure how useful.
