Important Characters as Cards

Thrasios is the Aquaman in this deck. His p/t may not be very big, however the word 'Triton' is merfolk in spanish, therefore making him 'merfolk hero' which in the terms of MTG, is 'ocean hero'.

Tatyova acts as Mera, and she also synergies quite well with Aquaman's ability, by possibly drawing more cards with the activation of Aquaman.

Kumena, Tyrant of Orazca represents King Orm in this deck. On his face, he is more powerful than Aquaman, just like in the movie. But, the overall value that Aquaman creates will eventually overcome Orm's power. This is showed all throughout the movie.

Prime Speaker Zegana is Aquaman's mother in this deck. She offers lots of card draw and wields a trident in the art.

Lighthouse Chronologist represents Aquaman's father, he also offers extraordinary value in the form of extra turns, this gives us more activations off of our Aquaman.

Kinnan is Black Manta in this deck. He can summon some of our massive creatures and is a human, like he was in the movie. He can also summon merfolk, and fits in with the theme of the deck.

Cards that Fit the Flavor

Arcane Lighthouse is the lighthouse that his father lives in, this also offers some value, and allows us to deal with problematic cards.

The card Chasm Skulker is supposed to act as the creatures that live in the Kingdom of the Trench, it does share some looks and lives in the same place. It also has synergy with our commander, in the form of card draw. Eventually, the value that we will get off of our commander will build up on the Skulker.

Stormsurge Kraken is the Karathen, honestly, it gets bigger when Aquaman is around and there to command it, as well as being just a really big kraken.

The massive waves at the beginning of the movie is represented by Devastation Tide. The massive tide returns all NON-land permanents to there owners hands, which connects with the movie by throwing ships and trash, back onto the land.

Freed from the Real acts as Aquaman's training, which is occasionally referenced in the movie.

The Bident of Thassa is the closest that you can get to the trident of King Atlan. This massive wanna-be trident gives Aquaman the power to control when others confront him within the ocean, by forcing everyone to turn everything sideways, and gaining power from them attacking him.

Some fish that Aquaman can command are portrayed in Fleet Swallower, Voracious Greatshark, Tidal Barracuda, Naidr Kraken, Reef Worm, and Mesmerizing Benthid.

Kiora Bests the Sea God shows how Aquaman gained the trust of the Karathen, overpowered atlantis' forces and won the trust of the sea.

The cards Arcane Signet, Sol Ring, Thought Vessel, and Simic Signet all represent different kinds of atlantian technology.

Coralhelm commander, Deeproot Elite, Harbinger of the Tides, Kiora's Follower, Kumena's Speaker, Lord of Atlantis, Master of the Pear Trident, Merfolk Mistbinder, Merfolk Trickster, Seafloor Oracle, Mistcaller, Merfolk Looter, and True-Name Nemesis are all random sea people, from Atlantis, Kingdom of the Fishermen, and the Kingdom of the Xebel.

The Kingdom of the Brine makes a brief appearance on the card Hedron Crab, this synergies with Aquaman's ability, and, is a crab just like the brine.

The flavor text of Reliquary Tower explains how it once stood tall, but then fell into ruin, like the backstory of atlantis in the movie.

The three deserts (Ipnu Rivulet, Hashep Oasis, and Desert) represent the Sahara Desert. This is best represented in the card Desert.

Kindred Discovery represents the quest to find the trident, and also gives another source of card draw.

Silent Submersible acts as the 'prototype stealth submarine' from the beginning of the movie. It is also yet another source of card draw.

The art for Mana Drain shows the massive underwater-twister that was in the trench. Into the Roil also depicts this effect.

So those were all of the important cards in the deck, the other cards all tie into the movie in one or two ways. This is my submission for the Aquaman Deck Challenge and I hope you enjoyed!
