My Commander, Kopala, Warden of Waves, represents Aquaman through his title of a watery guardian and through his mechanical ability to defend the people of the ocean.

Many of the deck's cards support Kopala's synergy by being and/or buffing Merfolk, showcasing Aquaman's role as the king and protector of his people. Some flavorful highlights include: - Merfolk Sovereign: References Aquaman's position as the King of Atlantis - Master of the Pearl Trident: References Aquaman's trusty trident - Lord of Atlantis: Aquaman's actual job description. - Coralhelm Commander, Coral Commando, Coralhelm Guide: Resembles the armor worn by some versions of the Atlantians.

Other cards reference Aquaman's allies and enemies: - Seahunter: Represents Aquaman's foe, Black Manta, being a human mercenary who hunts Aquaman's people. He's even from the set Nemesis! - Callaphe, Beloved of the Sea: Traditionally, one of Aquaman's parents is a human who an Atlantian falls in loves with. - Mercurial Pretender: References Aquaman's evil brother Oceanmaster who is always challenging him for the Throne. - Empress Galina: Represents Aquaman's wife, Mera, a redhaired Atlantian queen. - Bident of Thassa: Magic's version of the Trident of Neptune/Poseidon, which Aquaman wields.

For basic lands, I chose Dominaria's Island #246, as it depicts an underwater kingdom, just like Atlantis. Additionally, I tried to find the most water-themed alternate artworks, when possible. I also chose bright printings to represent Aquaman's heroism.
