thoughts on Halvar, God of Battle  ^Flip good cost at 2 mana, and if you play it as a creature thats synergistic aswell

It's pretty good, the vigilance doesn't do much since our cats only get the +3/+3 on our turn during/post combat phase. However, protecting key cats like Lost Leonin early. Later game he can become a double strike enabler as well.

Definitely a nice suggestion and worth some playtesting!

Ah fair point about the vigilance not being great. I didnt realize that at first but youre right, its not great on 2/1's and the like haha. guess it lets you block and replay but there arent many ETB kitties either.

Going to try Smuggler's Share over Skullclamp see if it draws more cards. Hurts Mox Opal and Armored Skyhunter so might not be the right cut, need to increase draw.

Feel like this deck has lost some of it's effectiveness, perhaps too central focused around the Heliod, Sun-Crowned and Walking Ballista strategy.

Will review new combos for selesnya, and also revisit the core infect early strategy with doublestrike/infect.

Draw still an issue for sure, hmm working on returning to a core. I tried focusing on a Mirri, Weatherlight Duelist progression, but it draws so much threat when it's supposed to protect me, while drawing attention from the combo focused decks. Have to find a balance.

i have kept this deck as a cat tribal edh ... stil fun to see the heliod walking balista combo but i m thinking of mixing this deck up too anyway as i don't play it at all anymore... il guess il recheck your build lateron

Have this guy as a power 7 maybe 8. It can sometimes kill in cEDH, but find it runs out of gas (draw). Can't find any efficient. Usually play this in 7-8 no infs (just dont play my inf), or eEDH not against titans.

Lots of cards under evaluation. Thought there might be some toxic that helped the deck, but not seeing much help for this one to increase it's power.

Sovereign Okinec Ahau and Kutzil, Malamet Exemplar from the new Ixalan set might have a good spot here.

Agreed finally a new all-star cat for the deck! Kutzil, Malamet Exemplar is protection / reduces disruption and draws cards if the creature with Eminence deals combat damage. This is an auto-include cat.

Sovereign Okinec Ahau probably won't make the cut, not really a +1 counters matter deck. It's not quite enough for infect, so Lost Leonin 2 + Eminence 3 + Sovereign Okinec Ahau 3 = 8 poison only. I feel it's similar to the reason that Ajani, Sleeper Agent hasn't playtested well (I tried him for testing, then took out, then put back in for flavor, but his +1 is just no good, and can't seem to get to his ultimate).

Sovereign Okinec Ahau it does distribute 3 counters (minimum), or more if you have some equipment attached to creatures. doesn't give haste like Halana and Alena, Partners or any evasion or protection. It needs Modified creatures have Ward , or Modified creatures have Trample, or Cats get +1/+1 (being a cat lord means every cat would get a +1 counter when it attacks), something to justify the MV4.

I would argue Kutzil, Malamet Exemplar is the 3rd best cat in the deck now! This deck just needs more cats that matter! They need Questing Beast to be oracle to a Cat Beast :).

Totally understandable regarding Sovereign Okinec Ahau for a cEDH list. Sovereign is a bit misleading initially, it doesn't actually need +1/+1 counters, since he checks for any power buff difference on your creatures, regardless of source. Okinec would check the +3/+3 buff from Arahbo, or essentially any power buff, then add at least 3 +1/+1 counters, assuming you don't also activate Arahbo's ability for the additional buff and trample.

Agreed though, Kutzil is fantastic. Very excited to have them both in my GW Auras deck.

Yeah can grow your cats fast, really needs Pridemalkin static ability to be a strong cat.

You can build around him Scrounging Bandar can get you some additional counters from Sovereign Okinec Ahau and you can move them around, Steppe Lynx, Skyhunter Strike Force, Regal Caracal, Qasali Pridemage, Pride Sovereign, Kaheera, the Orphanguard among others, anything that modifies it's attack so that you maximize your +1 counters with every swing, quite a different build than I have but it can be impactful with other cats, and The Ozolith of course lol.

Yeah, very on point. I can see Okinec finding a home in non-cEDH lists for Arahbo, that have more of the lord and other buff effects that you mentioned.
