solarseraph - Thanks so much for such a long and helpful comment! I appreciate your time and effort :)
I've mentioned in some comments before about cards like Puresteel Paladin and Stoneforge Mystic. I know they're great, and I know they almost certainly would perform very well in this deck, but... they aren't cats :D I am a stickler for the theme and this deck has a cat theme so I just can't bring myself to put them in. I might even replace Sram, Senior Edificer for that reason as without the theme I might as well drop half the cats and throw in a whole bunch of other "better" creatures! Same reason I don't run Sun Titan here. Perhaps swapping him out for something like the Descendants' Path you mentioned, or a Lifecrafter's Bestiary if I can't get one easily?
Cards I've definitely considered (and I am still considering!) include Dispatch, in fact I will put this in the Maybeboard. Same goes for Bloodforged Battle-Axe. I hadn't fancied it before but your comment about double strike had gone over my head before and that is very inviting.... I also just obtained a Strionic Resonator so it would be pretty hilarious to get the right combo out and be able to double the trigger for 2 mana and end up with a frankly ridiculous number of equipment on the board after one turn.
I am still unsure about Trailblazer's Boots as you say, the same goes for Trailblazer itself. I like it but not sure what I'd cut for it. The shroud is a pain but if you have free/instant speed equip you can get around it by detaching, pumping, reattaching. Clunky but workable.
Finally you're right about Soul's Majesty and Hunter's Prowess - I think I'll make that swap immediately. Thanks.

Hello there,
I suggest :
Leonin Arbiter has been really good for me, yes it affects you aswell, but YOU decide if you play him or not. If you have some sacrifice outlets as the first cards I mentionned, you can simply buff him to draw 5 cards. When you drop this turn 2, you can ruin your opponents hand if they planned their turn 3 Cultivate.
Here is my list:
I might try Rhonas to put pressure after wraths. Flash and Haste are useful for that.

I've just done a 10-card update on the deck primarily to speed it up (dropped average CMC, bit more land/ramp) and to remove some of the cards that I personally found were not performing in my playtesting. Hope everyone likes it!
Hey AliasGreg - Thanks for the comments and sorry for my slow reply :)
I can see what you mean about Leonin Arbiter - I'll definitely consider him again next time I tweak the deck. I can also see the use of the sac/draw cards like Greater Good and Life's Legacy with him but without him it's VERY rare that we want to sac our big creature, even for loads of draw. The deck runs reasonably light on cats and honestly we just tutor the one we want and go for it so losing it is generally a bad thing :) I will definitely add them to the maybeboard though and see how things go. Berserk is more likely to make it in... I'm tempted by it but I play a lot of multiplayer and swinging big to kill one guy but losing your cat would often cripple you for the remaining players. I can definitely see it helping 1 on 1 or later in a multiplayer game once someone else is already out though.
Regarding Skullclamp - it's just so rare to have anything with 1T to use it on for quick draw. I can see some benefit in simply equipping your big cat so that if it does die you get to draw some more cards, but that's kind of what Heirloom Blade is for. It's an incredible card but I don't think it deserves a slot in this particular deck. Reliquary Tower and Thought Vessel would be useful if you run the big draw cards you mentioned, and I do have a couple myself (Rishkar's Expertise and Soul's Majesty) but again I think the need for them is limited to the point they aren't worthy of removing something else.

If you put a Temple Garden or Savannah in Nature's Lore for Farseek. Nature's Lore is CMC2 for 1 Mana = Net -1. Farseek it enters tapped so it's CMC2 for 0 Mana = Net -2. Costs you 2 life though for Temple Garden. In addition to mana fixing, they also work with Sunpetal Grove ETB.
Lost Leonin + Berserk is an elimination, I would get it in there. Its also great with a doublestrike or lifelink swing, and it can be used as janky removal too. I really like it.
You should run Puresteel Paladin instead of Brass Squire, if Brass Squire was like CMC1 it would make sense, but CMC3, that's crazy. Puresteel Paladin also gives you the draw for playing artifacts/equipments!
Prowling Serpopard gives you 4 Power for CMC3, which is awesome, and protects you from Izzet & Grixis (and Talrand, Sky Summoner) decks!

Berserk is also a removal. That's why it's so good.Example: Opponent 1 attacking opponent 2 with a big threatening creature."Let me help you, opponent 2 you take double the damage. Oh opponent 1, your creature is dead at the end of turn by the way... Yes that was for one green mana."
You should at least play Greater Good because when you attack with an equipped boosted cat and the opponent plays Path to Exile or even worse, you are quite happy to sac the cat in order to draw. Or when you Berserk your cat, then it becomes crazy. Sac engines are always very good anyway.

Great, I have built it and it's lots of fun. I made some changes based on my matches.
Out:
Krosan Verge - put Mutavault instead.
Godsend
Helm of Kaldra
Mask of Avacyn
Sword of Kaldra
Masterwork of Ingenuity - I don't have it, will buy.
Asceticism - I don't have it and put Privileged Position instead.
Leonin Abunas - Privileged Position can protect kitties' toys.
Prowling Serpopard - I haven't seen someone counter kitties, so I put other things.
Raksha Golden Cub - Too big, I put Taj-Nar Swordsmith instead.
Steppe Lynx - I prefer Loam Lion, Steppe Lynx needs landfall.
Hunting Cheetah - I don't have it, will buy.
Teferi's Protection - I don't have it, will buy.
In:
Mutavault
Conqueror's Flail
Trailblazer's Boots
Umezawa's Jitte
Privileged Position
Berserk
Nature's Lore
Rampant Growth
Kodama's Reach
Nissa's Pilgrimage

Hey alu4 - happy to hear you built the deck up and enjoyed it! I got it back out again the other day for a game and it was great fun.
Some of the cards you put in are ones that I have been considering myself but don't own at the moment. Trailblazer's Boots and Conqueror's Flail look good.
I definitely need to get hold of a Berserk as well....

Hey Im planing to build the deck, im currently missing 30 cards. XD Just wanted to know what youd recommend instead of Ronas and teferis protection.

Hey Happy774 - glad I could help inspire you to build something :) It can be pretty explosive with it's damage!
As for alternatives.... Teferi's Protection is a tough one to replace because it's so good and we're already running Heroic Intervention. Perhaps something like Ajani's Presence would work as you won't have loads of cats out that need saving at once, or even Rootborn Defenses (or the new card from RNA that's similar?) - Possibly Blinding Fog or the rather expensive to cast Join Shields? None of them are as good sadly....
A swap for Rhonas the Indomitable would really be looking for something that enables trample as that's why he's in the deck. A quick Scryfall search throws up some stuff like Elvish Herder or Creeperhulk or Mosstodon but I'm not sure how great they'd be (they're also not cats, but then neither is Rhonas....)
Hope that helps!

Return of the Wildspeaker is a better Soul's Majesty . It's instant instead of sorcery. It doesn't target so gets around shroud, and assuming you have more than 1 creature, a creature removal doesn't counter it. It's also modal.
I won't mention Puresteel Paladin again cause he's not a cat! :)
Shadowspear does a ton of work for me for such a low play value, the lifelink stabilizes and the trample is fantastic.

Hey Spirits, thanks for the comment!
You're right about Return of the Wildspeaker - I think I have been running Soul's Majesty because I only had one copy of RotW but it looks like I've had some more come in some precons so I will probably do the swap. Thanks.
As for Shadowspear , I agree. I think it's a good card in this deck, but I don't have one yet! I'd probably swap Behemoth Sledge for it if I can get hold of one.
solarseraph says... #1
Hey sagramore, great looking deck! I'm building a Kitty Equipment deck too. It's a Mirri, Weatherlight Duelist Voltron deck so it plays a bit differently, but a lot of concepts transfer. I'll come back and post a link once I spruce it up if you like.
I have to say, Puresteel Paladin is amazing, and for me worth the price. He's a draw engine, and when you pair him with Leonin Shikari things get nuts - free, instant-speed equipping turns your equipment into answers, especially ones like Swiftfoot Boots and Darksteel Plate.
Those two are great fetch targets for Uncage the Menagerie, which is inexpensive both to buy and cast. (I don't rely on Cat Tribal as much, so I usually fetch a Puresteel Paladin and Stoneforge Mystic with Uncage). Also, if you haven't thought about it, Dispatch is one of the lesser-known spot exile spells. A budget card compared to something like Path to Exile, but it works in artifact-heavy decks.
Could I recommend swapping your Hunter's Prowess for Soul's Majesty? Same casting cost, so it doesn't affect your curve. HP is only better draw if your opponent blocks for less than three damage, and is easily interrupted by tapping, bouncing, destroying, or just plain blocking the creature. I ran both in my deck for a time, but I like SM better.
I saw some discussion about Bloodforged Battle-Axe in the other comments - I have to say I like it. As one guy said, it can eat your mana and turns if you focus on equipping all the copies. However, three or four cards mean you don't have to. With Sigarda's Aid or Hammer of Nazahn in play, all of the copies auto-equip when they hit the battlefield! This is especially gratifying when you have a double-striker, because copies of the Axe are made during the first damage step, and auto-equip before second damage is dealt. That quadruples your Axes instead of doubling them. Balan, Wandering Knight can attach copies to himself, so you can do the same trick with him at instant speed for two mana without either of the other support cards. And if you spring for that Puresteel Paladin... then Paladin.
I love that you included Asceticism and Heroic Intervention. I run both myself :) If I can get a hold of Teferi's Protection I will. Gotta love anti-boardwipe.
As far as Trailblazer's Boots in your Maybeboard, I currently run it, but I'm thinking of replacing it with Whispersilk Cloak, which you already included. The boots just don't do a whole lot for the card slot they take up when you could have better equipment in its place. On the other hand, I'm running Mirri as my commander, so I don't usually pump with Arahbo, Roar of the World, and Whispersilk prevents you from doing that. Maybe trample is all we really need? Playtesting will tell!
Oh! One last thing: Descendants' Path is a card I ran when I was sticking closer to the Tribal theme. I since removed it, but it means free Kitties!
