This is a concept deck I have put together after creating my 60 card deck The Government Can!. I really wanted to make a commander version of Government that would work. I also originally wanted to make Grand Arbiter Augustin IV the commander, but in order to make this deck more competitive, I've decided to add green. There are some great combos that can be used in Bant and Derevi, Empyrial Tactician is a great way to utilize some of them.
Below are various featured cards and combos:
Ways to slow the game down- Propaganda, Collective Restraint, Sphere of Safety, Ghostly Prison, Web of Inertia and Elephant Grass are there to keep the opponents off your back. Make them pay to attack you. Also, Michiko Konda, Truth Seeker, Fatespinner, Linvala, Keeper of Silence, In the Eye of Chaos, Grand Arbiter Augustin IV are added in to make your opponents reconsider strategies.
Ways to bring back your enchantments- Hanna, Ship's Navigator also brings back the few artifacts in the deck, Dowsing Shaman, Sun Titan.
Ways to draw- Reparations, Azor, the Lawbringer is a Sphinx's Revelation on a stick, Eidolon of Blossoms, Rhystic Study, Tamiyo, Field Researcher, Isperia, Supreme Judge, Sylvan Library, Abundance, and Consecrated Sphinx.
Mana Sources- I decided to do something a little different and decided to use mostly enchantment mana sources over artifact mana rocks. Cards such as Fertile Ground, Market Festival, Overgrowth, Wild Growth, Verdant Haven, Dawn's Reflection and Oath of Nissa. These cards can be brought back most of my recurrence, they bolster Serra's Sanctum, Sphere of Safety and add draw to Eidolon of Blossoms. I also added Selvala, Explorer Returned and Chromatic Lantern.
Various Combos: Stoic Angel, Static Orb + Ahn-Crop Champion, Seedborn Muse, Brago, King Eternal, Derevi, Empyrial Tactician, Heliod, God of the Sun- Screw with your opponents creatures while keeping yours untapped.
Winter Orb, Hokori, Dust Drinker, Static Orb + Nature's Will, Seedborn Muse, Mana Web, Derevi, Empyrial Tactician- These combos let you screw with your opponents lands while letting you still untap yours.
Winter Orb, Hokori, Dust Drinker, Static Orb, Stoic Angel + Nature's Will, Seedborn Muse, Derevi, Empyrial Tactician, Brago, King Eternal, Ahn-Crop Champion, Mana Web + Glare of Subdual, Opposition- Basically the same as above, but tapping your opponents permanents when they play them while untapping your own. You can also tap Winter Orb on the last opponents end step to untap your lands regularly.
Sylvan Library + Abundance- Draw two additional cards during your draw step without having to pay life and you get to choose land or nonland for each. It's a great deal.
Enchanted Evening + Aura Thief, or Calming Verse- Make all permanents enchantments and either steal all of your opponents with Aura Thief or destroy them instead with Calming Verse. Just don't forget to tap your mana out using verse.
Derevi, Empyrial Tactician + Birthing Pod- You can keep sacrificing Derevi to pull various four drop creatures from your deck and put them directly into play. Key combo cards such as: Ahn-Crop Champion, Hokori, Dust Drinker, Stoic Angel, Heliod, God of the Sun, Brago, King Eternal, and Aura Thief. Derevi, Empyrial Tactician will never cost more then four mana to bring back from the command zone so sac away!
Web of Inertia + Scavenging Ooze- Exile your opponents cards when they are in the graveyard and make yourself unattackable.
