I also like Akroma's Memorial as a second way to give all your creatures haste after Primal Surge , in case they have instant speed removal for Fervor before combat.

Also, since you are only really concerned with haste after the Primal Surge why not Akroma's Memorial instead of Fervor ? It gives evasion and vigilance.

I would squeeze in Genesis Wave as a backup for Primal Surge .

@ Ohthenoises and dcarpntr I had the memorial on my want list for the deck when i was dreaming it up at work last night. I may have 1 in the works for trade. Waiting to find out tonight.

@ meecht thanks for the suggestion, but adding a non permanent would really screw up the deck if I didnt draw it before Primal Surge . I may have a use for it in another deck though.

Just remembered this. Boseiju, Who Shelters All will protect you from having Primal Surge countered. And you can find it with Expedition Map .

Unless this is for 1v1, I would swap Liliana of the Veil for Liliana Vess . Vess lets you tutor for your Primal Surge or anything else you might need.

@ dcarpntr thats a great suggestion. i dont know if i can get one but i will keep my eyes open. @ meecht i agree with you. i need to get LV. im pretty sure i can trade for one or buy her cheap. i just tossed lilli 2.0 in cause i found her in a random box. didnt even know i had her.

loses to Fog effects. Because of this, I suggest Leyline of Punishment .

I know i have a few of the leylines, Ill have to see if i have that one. Thanks for the suggestion.

@ Manji187 It would be a shame, but as the description says this deck is only built with cards I currently have. And the maybe board is for cards I am looking to trade for to put into this deck. I will be adding your suggestion to the list.

I would suggest switching Tibalt out for one of those better planeswalkers in the maybe-board for sure. Probably Garruk for the -3, though Liliana's -8 could be fun (if you ever got it...).

You should include Akroma's Memorial so all your creatures have haste after dumping your library with Primal Surge . Maybe take out Traveler's Amulet .

Please change the name of this deck to "I've got 99 permanents, but primal surge ain't one"

Hey, this is nice...LOL I have a Surge deck I just haven't posted up yet, and it's 5-color Allies with Child of Alara as the general. I simply chose the Child for purposes of getting all 5 colors in it, but if the board state is getting out of hand, I can always reset with him.

Anyway, some of the cards I have in there to help out are Fauna Shaman and Fierce Empath (to go grab a tutor-on-legs Rune-Scarred Demon ). Another good thing to have in a Surge deck is cards with the Landfall ability. Trust me, if you have a guy like Ob Nixilis, the Fallen out on the battlefield when your Surge goes off, you don't need to worry about combat. LOL

Awesome suggestions highdesertvike. I hadnt even thought about the landfall triggers. So far most of my wins come from sac damage from Blood Artist and Goblin Bombardment with Mikaeus, the Unhallowed on the board.

Let me know when/if you post your surge deck. I would love to take a look at it.
