yes, you should add in wooded foothills because in an emergency it will give you white mana and because deck thinning is a thing, even if its not a super-impactful thing (but there is some, especially in an aggro deck)

Wooded Foothills could work out, if you toss in a Cinder Glade which would open up access to Atarka's Command, Deflecting Palm, Temur Battle Rage, Titan's Strength etc. for sideboard options

Do you think you could make this into a modern deck after rotation?
December 15, 2015 12:57 p.m.
polydamas, thanks for the question. This deck is too much fun to dismantle after rotation so I will use it as Modern deck. I am not sure of what changes I would make, if any.

Hey darleen I posted before, wanted to say still love the deck. So much that you inspired me to do up my own version (with heavy influence from you and other similar decks on here). Ordering the rest of what I need later this week. I am also planning to keep it together and play it for modern come rotation. If you had any suggestions for me would be open to them. Cheers!!

Actually, if you look at what g/w aggro was back in Avacyn/Innisdrad times, you could find some good cards from there for modern. I personally like Champion of the Parish, and it would work with some more human synergies.

What about these cards when it goes modern?

I made a modern version of this deck here.
Please let me know what you think.

Hey darleen, any thoughts on changes off the new Gatewatch cards? Few look really good, new Nissa especially, maybe her oath. Some black cards make me consider a Abzan Hardened Scales deck would be solid as well.... Thanks!

Amornar, thanks for the question. There were only a few cards from the new set that stood out to me for this deck. I would consider Shoulder to Shoulder if it were an Instant. Pulse of Murasa is on my maybe list. Natural State made it into the sideboard to deal with Silkwrap and any other cheap, annoying artifacts.

Amornar, I forgot to ask, what cards seemed good to you for this deck?
January 14, 2016 5:50 p.m.
I really like the addition of Oath of Nissa, I think it is a great way to dig to creatures or the right color land for only a single green mana. I think I might replace my Servents of the Scale with four of them. Nissa, Voice of Zendikar is a huge bomb with a whole board and I feel two of them fit really nice intro the curve and support well. Immolating Glare might not have the life gain of Surge of Righteousness but I think the better diversity is fantastic as it works against everything from pumped red to trampling Abzan or giant Eldrazi. Probably a sideboard staple along with Natural State like you said. Wall of Resurgence also seems solid in the side board for its ability to stonewall an aggro strategy. Not totally sure on it yet but I think there is value to test. Lastly, adding a couple Hissing Quagmire just for the additional utility of adding death touch to the deck seems really interesting. Perhaps just a pair in exchange for two basic forests to use as a threat against the biggest baddest creature your opponents can play.

Amornar, I agree with your points about those OGW cards. Oath of Nissa is very powerful, however, I would be cautious taking out Servant of the Scale because it really helps to activate Avatar of the Resolute's enter-the-battlefield effect. Plus Servant of the Scale is a good chump blocker because when it dies, if Hardened Scales is in play, you get to put two counters onto another creature. I looked at your deck, I would remove Salt Road Quartermasters and Undergrowth Champion instead.
January 15, 2016 10:50 a.m.
Thanks for the look. The Quartermaster is only there because I haven't picked up another something better yet. I think I am going to drop those two for Nissa, Voice of Zendikar, not sure where to get some Oath of Nissas in quite yet as that is an excellent point about Servant of the Scale.
January 15, 2016 10:56 a.m.
Looking at the OGW cards, I would imagine that Oath of Nissa will make it into most lists. A green brainstorm for 1 is very powerful at any stage of the game. The question is what would we cut from this list? Imo: 1 Abzan Falconer, 1 Hangarback Walker, 1 Managorger Hydra.
With 23 creatures and 22 lands, the odds of hitting 3 things you can grab is very close to 50/50.
Not to mention that the oath once on the field is additional protection against Dromoka's Command forcing you to sac an enchant.
And as for your question about Wooded Foothills, the answer is yes :)
January 19, 2016 9:09 a.m.
Noctem, thanks for the comment. If I decide to add Oath of Nissa, I would most likely remove 1 Abzan Falconer and 2 Endless Ones. Hangarback Walker and Managorger Hydra are too good in this deck. You make a good point about sacrificing Oath of Nissa to Dromoka's Command in the mirror matchup.

Love the deck I have used a variation of it quite succesfully, lead by example, some creatures with support etc
Have you considered using Nissa, Voice of Zendikar?

I would say Wooded Foothills is unnecessary and detrimental unless you are planning on splashing red.

I have wooded foothills because i have one cinder glade and 2 copies of radiant flames on the sb

I feel like this comment section should be archived and have the discussion reset as it takes quite awhile to scroll through so many comments that are no longer relevant for the current iteration of this deck.

D.Bauer338, usually Valorous Stance because in some match-ups, like Allies/Aggro, its sort of a dead card. Also one Harden Scales could come out, maybe even one Dromoka's Command. Endless One would be the creature I'd take out if any, but I prefer to keep 26 creatures in most match-ups.
Thanks for the comment!
