This is a tentative list of cards, primarily used for my own personal use to construct a deck around Arixmethes as my Commander. The cards used here are by no means unique to mine, I've simply been using cards recommended through EDHREC to fill spots, but I may sub cards out at some point in the future as my own playstyle is adapted to the deck. Feel free to use this list of cards as options should you choose to make a similar deck!

Here's how it works! Don't be scared about getting pinged by some tiny creatures early game, because you'll be coming back 5x stronger in a few turns! Arixmethes is unique in that he's a LAND and not a creature-- atleast not initially. This means that my own commander helps me get mana, but has the potential to become a big-scary in a couple turns.

I always try to have some kind of land-ramp (like Cultivate or Farseek) or mana rock (like Sol Ring or Arcane Signet) in my starting hand to allow me to cast Arixmethes as soon as possible. With him entering, I normally try to cast 4 spells so that he has 1 final counter on him in the event that I need him as an attacker or blocker ASAP.

Use his mana-tap ability, use cards like Elvish Piper, or search for enough lands to cast those big, splashy creatures. The goal here is to start slow, but pick up pace VERY quickly with these big creatures. AAAAAND of course... Arixmethes can become a 12/12... So that means that an alternative Win-Con is to attack with him and make him unblockable through a few different means. Swing twice at someone who can't block Arixmethes and they're DONE.
