Any suggestions?

Only for your sideboard. This thing looks damn good to me. For your sideboard i would suggest some type of creature removal. Either Doom Blade or Tragic Slip might be nice. My only recommendation for your main board would be to add one more Jace assuming you have one more to add.

i do have another jace, but i wasnt sure if it was messing with my mana curve. what would i take out?

Oh i would not take any advice from me lol i think this things rolls just fine. What format could it played in? Asking cause i don't even know. If it was me i would drop one Traumatize for him same CMC and IMO i think he is way more useful to not want your draw percentage on him up. But then again it took some serious convincing from other before i removed that card from my standard mill deck. I just did not want to let go of a card that would cut someone's library smooth in half on turn five.

I count four great win cons in this hella good looking mill deck. Talk about card synergy. Dont change shit. Screw what i said about adding a jace. Have you played it against anyone?

I'll be playing it this weekend. Modern format... Or legacy I guess it's just a casual game with my friend, but he takes it to his big multiplayer gathering to show off my work.. I want it to remind them how scary a win con like mill can be

I do like that Traumatize can cut a deck clean in half.. But most of my dry runs are showing me that by turn 4 they are usually already missing 30 cards. So traumatize is usually less effective than Jace, Memory Adept . So I'll keep one just to bomb somebody from time to time while jace does the rest. I should sideboard a couple for multiplayer though.

Used it today.... This deck is devastating!!

Does another Jace make a difference or would you rather keep in the extra Traumatize?

October 5, 2013 9:53 p.m.

Quadsimotto says... #10

If it were me i would swap one traumatize for jace just to be sure you catch him in a draw fairly early game. I have been play testing this just because its fun and i think hedon crap early game (or preferably two) is crazy brutal on the other guy.And mind funeral? Shiiiiit low cmc four land grind. sickness. What format would i be allowed to use this in? Modern? I only know of standard that gets played at FNM so where is modern played other than house games and at kitchen tables with groups? Just wondering cause this is my kind of deck for sure.

Legacy and modern. I've got three jobs, so at the table with casual friends is about as good as it gets. And I'm gonna take out one of the Traumatize but I seem to have misplaced my other Jace, Memory Adept . I'm sure it's around here somewhere. I'm glad you all approve of my deck! I worked hard on it.

I just wish I could afford a playset of Glimpse the Unthinkable , I'd trade out Mind Sculpt in a heartbeat.. but alas, I am eternally broke.

I just did another playtest, and adding one more Jace, Memory Adept is a great idea! He synergizes well, obviously, and combining him with Duskmantle Guildmage was an unexpected but leisurely two turn clock for crazy cheap.

Goo!! after reading that i had to check the price on ebay.. Over a bill for a playset of four. Yikes!! For sure you could almost run a completely creatureless mill deck with those and every other mill spell.A deck of sixty minus a drawn hand of seven leaves 53 cards to mill out as rapidly as possible.turn one tome scour leaves 48-1=47draw turn two glimpse 37-1 drawturn three glimpse 26-1 drawturn four tome scour 20 and mind funeral. How many lands do you think would be left in the deck? lets say they hit four straight. 13-1drawturn five(if you have managed to live this long) Jace. They have one turn to finish the job. Or perhaps you pull another Mind funeral and end it right then. huh,.,.,. I think i shall build it since i do not have to actually have the cards to do so with this site. Thanks for the idea. lol and once again great job on this extremely brutal mill deck.

Thoughts on the inclusion of Trepanation Blade and removing thought Scour ?

denijsx90 says... #16

Thought Scour , sorry.

October 7, 2013 5:56 p.m.

Quadsimotto says... #17

Trepanation Blade looks like it would be fun to slap on a crab early game. What will you use for draw power when you take out the Thought Scour ? Card advantage is not everything and removing the other guys library is a form of card advantage so i guess it would not matter all that much. If you have been testing it let me know how it flows with this card in there.

Mindcrank + Duskmantle Guildmage = instant kill. i would definitely suggest more Mindcrank as it is really good for really cheap.

I do love Mindcrank . But I feel like theres not enough direct damage being done to warrant more than 2. The last thing I want to do is top deck a Mindcrank when i could be pulling more mill or establishing a stronger board presence. Yeah, the "combo kill" is sweet. But I kind of like it as a rare bonus. I have another "combo" deck The Shallow Grave.. Kills on turn 4 usually.. But it's SO boring to win all the time without any real fight. So this way it stays exciting and fun for other people to play against.

By the way Trepanation Blade works pretty well. I use it on Jace's Phantasm , because of the evasion. It really helps to mill every turn, lets not forget that it becomes even more powerful after 10 cards ard in the grave! So 5 plus whatever Trepanation Blade lands you.. It can really make the "clock" tick fast. I really don't miss the single card draw, so rarely offered by my two Thought Scour , and it definitely mills more.

Quadsimotto I made a different Dimir deck with a side of mill.. It's a work in progress, but I'd love some input. Check it out; if you have time.

This deck needs Tome Scour I think in place of mind sculpt.

Also Lazav, Dimir Mastermind would be beastly in this deck.

denijsx90 says... #22

You don't think that the 2 extra milled cards are worth th1 extra mana? I originally had a set in here.

I thought so too about lazav... what do you think i should take out?

October 21, 2013 6:51 a.m.

denijsx90 says... #23

Maybe Traumatize ? I hate to run single copies..

And the Trepanation Blade ?

October 21, 2013 6:54 a.m.

TEGHabibird says... #24

Traumatize I think is the weakest point of this deck. As a 1 of you're unlikely to get it reliably, and by turn 5 you should've already milled them for enough that traumatize becomes inefficient.

Also if you traumatize with consuming aberration down, it mills for land then cuts the deck. Even worse.

Drop it.

Yes I think the reduced cost is worth the loss of 2 cards. For the same mana you can mill 3 more cards, which procs jaces phantasm, and improves wright of precinct six. It's also something to do on turn 1 if nothing else.

Also mind sculpt is a slightly worse breaking anyway.

My thoughts lean towards, -1 Traumatize - 1 Consuming Aberration +2 Lazav, Dimir Mastermind and swap Mind Sculpt for Tome Scour

I yield to your wisdom, now I've just got to get another Lazav, Dimir Mastermind and test it out on some poor fool.
