In a meta dominated by Burn, Abzan, and Combo, we need the peacekeepers of Ravnica to take control!

The Combos:

Stonehewer Giant + Sword of Feast and Famine , or any other equipment, is key to tutor and play your swords for cheap.

The Creatures:

Brimaz, King of Oreskos - this value legend dodges Lightning Bolt while also creating tokens; also, he doesn't tap. Blockers are nice.

Geist of Saint Traft - this legend is the standard sword-holder who also makes flyers and dodges spot removal.

Glen Elendra Archmage - this counterspell-on-a-stick is in for added flyer value and stopping those pesky non-creature spells.

Mirran Crusader - this creature hits twice while also dodging Abrupt Decay. He is perfect for holding swords and turning sideways.

Snapcaster Mage - this creature flashes back your value spells, like Cryptic Command, Sphinx's Revelation, and Mana Leak.

Stonehewer Giant - this tutor gets you your equipment for, basically, free and puts them onto the field instantly.

The Spells:

Azorius Charm - an underrated spell that is multifaceted. Gain life when getting in the red, draw a card when you need a better hand, or bounce attackers.

Cryptic Command - another diverse spell that can do most anything you could want.

Mana Leak - the bog-standard counterspell in modern.

Path to Exile - the best spot removal spell in modern. Period.

Remand - a soft-counter spell that also draws you cards and a tempo advantage.

Spell Snare - this counterspell hits 2-drops, like Tarmogoyf.

Sphinx's Revelation - this game finisher seals the deal with burn decks because it gives you card advantage and takes you out of the red.

The Others:

Batterskull - this equipment can be tutored by Stonehewer Giant and doesn't even need a creature to be equipped to; oh, it also has lifelink.

Elspeth, Knight-Errant - this walker gives your Geist of Saint Traft or Brimaz, King of Oreskos Giant Growth + Jump , but can also fill the board with token, and, eventually, make them all indestructible.

Sword of Feast and Famine - this sword is best against control decks or decks running green and black because it kills the opponent's card advantage and gives you more mana to play with.

Sword of Fire and Ice - this sword is complete value because it gives you a repeatable Shock as well as Curiosity.

Sword of Light and Shadow - this sword gives you life while also bringing your dead creatures back from the dead.

Sword of War and Peace - this sword is also good against control decks because it hurts them or their advantage while building off our own. It also does work against burn for the life gain.
