Turnabout , Cryptic Command , and Cyclonic Rift are good ways to get through for damage when you need to and function as general utility spells in the meantime.

i would say 2 absolute MUSTS with rafiq are sword of feast and famine and sword of fire and ice . i would reccommend putting in a stoneforge mystic to get at least one of those out. i would also reccommend some extra turn spells. those can be extremely potent when using rafiq

I like Silent Arbiter , and yeah, i haven't worked on the mana base at all yet, i do that last. I just have the lands in there for card count.

I suggest Spirit Mantle as another way to make sure you aren't chumped.
