Because the last one was not greatThis deck tries to hamstring the opponent early with extirpate, surgical extraction, codex shredder and altar if the brood. Ratchet bomb is there to answer to midrange threats. Thoughtcast maintains a level of midgame card advantage, while the majority of the work is done by electrostatic pummeler and multiform wonder. Myr welder adds redundancy to your hand. The late game threat (really midgame due to affinity) mycosynth golem is there for its high degree of mana efficiency.

Basically play a disruptive control early game until enough artifacts are in play to cast mycosynth golem. Then the final threats of the deck are easy to field quickly.

Would like help and advice on the control aspects of the deck, particularly whether it is a viable plan to counter threats just using cards like extirpate and surgical extraction
