APPLE01DOJ- interesting. Not very budget. Perhaps in a more competitive deck. I find I'm using all of my mana every turn to get this geared up for a win, so keeping mana open for this may not be viable. I also feel this would only be conditional as it would only be useful to use with Bloodthrone Vampire after a pump, disrupting the killcon of Rite of Consumption, which gains me that life anyhow for less mana. Thanks for the suggestion, I appreciate the effort; but I think I'm gonna have to pass.

Maybe try some Phyrexian Arenas? Your deck seems to slow down mid to late game. Or, as a more budget option, Underworld Connections.
I'd also recommend one or two more Swamps.

@Wasadia: Considerable, I do have an Underworld Connections, but don't really want to invest outside of the $20 mark. For a more casual deck, what are your thoughts on simply adding one more of each Altar's Reap and Costly Plunder? Carnage Altar?
I'm going to disagree about adding land. The deck relies on a balance of constant creature draw and land to play as many of said creatures as possible, I feel like one more land would offset the balance I experience with my meta's speed.
Appreciate the time and +1!

Are you set on keeping this mono-black? Even at a really budget price, something like Rally the Ancestors or Return to the Ranks would greatly increase your staying power in games. Or staying in Mono-Black you can get a lot of great consistent fueling cards like Grim Haruspex and Immortal Servitude, even ignoring pricier options like Bridge from Below. I think that the sacrifice to draw cards are overrated and not that useful because they only get you a few cards from each one, whereas a Grim Haruspex could draw you a lot more cards.

If you maybe want to make the sacrificing a little more consistent and focus more on the Bloodthrone Vampire and Rite of Consumption plan, maybe include more creatures like Myr Sire that replace themselves. Cards like Doomed Dissenter, Carrier Thrall and Sultai Emissary are all fine options and allow for two sacrifices with one creature. Maybe replace the Perilous Myr and Tattered Mummy with these options, as although those creatures do hurt the opponent, committing fully to just bloodthrone-riting someone out should make it so you don't need the extra damage. Hope this helps in some way, really like the deck!

Bloodcrazed Paladin would go nice. On a turn that you sac stuff you get a huge creature for 2 cmc.

@Rennash1- Not a bad workaround for a secondary wincon. If they remove my Bloodthrone, I can pop this out instead of Rite, and still have a board presence. Thanks man! Appreciate it!
Play hard!

Solid brew. Might benefit from 1x or 2x Bojuka Bog, even in the SB. Could also have hand hate for some additional options in certain bad matchups, like Tron or Storm. Would love to see a SB!
Cheers!

Grubbernaut- I put 3x Inquisition of Kozilek in the sideboard for some hand hate as suggested. Great call!
Perhaps I'm missing something, but I'm just not seeing a benefit to Bojuka Bog. I need all of the fast mana I can get, to cast as many creatures as possible. I simply don't have room for a slow land. :/

Good points. Any graveyard hate would be good for the SB, doesn't have to be Bojuka Bog. Tormod's Crypt, Relic of Progenitus, Leyline of the Void or Nihil Spellbomb are all solid options! Makes Past in Flames a lot less scary and nerfs the heck out of Snapcaster Mage

I would suggest finding some 1 drop sacrifice cards. That way you can set up easier.

How about Village Rites over Costly Plunder? Save a Mana.
