EDIT: Got first place at my local FNM with this deck. Pretty good for a 15 dollar deck.
A budget standard deck I'm working on. The main focus is to pump out a few scions or negligibles for sacrificing into bigger creatures. Let's go into the decklist.
-Creatures-
Blisterpod - One drop that can be easy sacrifice fodder to create another 1/1? Yes please.
Rot Shambler - Every sacrifice beefs it up, making it one of the three main sluggers of the deck.
Nantuko Husk - I love this card. A 3 drop 2/2 that can be hugely boosted by scions and sacrificed negligibles top become massive is great for a common. Plus it's a reliable sac outlet. One of the main parts of the deck.
Catacomb Sifter - Free scion, and (at least in this deck) some steady scry. What's not to love?
Scion Summoner - Like the sifter above, it creates a free scion to sacrifice.
Smothering Abomination
- Some nifty card draw, where you could easily draw a few cats per turn. The sac at upkeep can suck a bit, but it's a sac outlet, which can make this deck work wonders.
Zulaport Cutthroat - Constant ping source, and a little bit of life gain. Makes winning just a little bit easier.
Brood Butcher
- Sometimes you might not have a Bone splinter in your hand, but this card makes it OK. Can be used to nerf attackers or kill enemies.
-Enchantments-
Evolutionary Leap
- Sac outlet AND a random creature fetch rolled into one? How could it not be in here?
From Beyond - Sac fodder generator. Feeds all the creatures in the deck for efficient sacrifice. Plus, if you REALLY need to (you shouldn't need to often) you can sac it for an eldrazi (Blisterpod,
Smothering Abomination
, or Catacomb Sifter).
-Instant/Sorcery-
Altar's Reap - If card draw is truly needed, it won't be hard to find anything to sacrifice.
Bone Splinters - Sacrifice creature, trigger lots of abilities, kill another creature. All for one mana.
Gravepurge- Get back the creatures that died or were sacrificed. Then do it all again.
And on sideboard, I have
Ruinous Path
. Bone Splinters works better in most situations, but if you just can't spare the fodder for it, this should do the trick.
The current matchups this deck has problems with is fliers (which is a big problem with vampires), and Superfriends/Planeswalker Heavy Decks. Boarding in more kill spells would help if you ever play against those.
