Good call. Who knew there was a card with landfall that was useful in mill decks? Thanks!

Archive Trap and Jace, Memory Adept would be nice additions.

In my description I mention I'd like to take Archive Trap from the maybeboard but I can't find any room for it. What would you recommend I swap it with? (same with the extra Jaces)

I like old Jace for this deck since its mana cost allows it to be fished for by Perplex s transmute ability.

Ah, I apologize for not reading that.

No worries! I've tried cutting a land and a Recoil to squeeze a few Archive Trap s into the deck and it seems to not be too big of a problem.

there's no need for running 4 Traumatize , take 2 out and add the two SnapcasterMage he'll give you amazing things like a double Mind Funeral or a Glimpse the Unthinkable .

I think you're probably right; once you've split the deck in the half a few times Traumatize really loses its usefulness. It seems to me that only having two will make it hard to draw though. Is there anyway to transmute or use some sort of tutor to make sure can pull it out in a pinch?

Decided to cut some traumatize and a card:Jace's Archivist since you really only need one in play (and you can search for it with Perplex anyway) to squeeze in some Snapcasters. going to test now and see how it plays out.

Just ran some more tests w/ the Snapcasters included. Here's the new results:

Game #1) Opponent's library reduced to 0 on Turn 9 (Drew a lot of land in intial hand, decided to keep playing anyway)

Game #2) Opponent's library reduced to 0 on Turn 9

Game #3) Opponent's library reduced to 0 on turn 8

Game #4) Opponent's library reduced to 0 on turn 7

Game #5) Opponent's library reduced to 0 on turn 9

Game #6) Opponent's library reduced to 0 on turn 8 (after taking a free Mulligan)

Game #7) Opponent's library reduced to 0 on turn 8

Looks like it's still averaging 8 turns against the dummy (so closer to 10 against a real player).

Okay, now I've dropped the Snapcasters, Undermine , and a land, in favor of [[Counterspell] (if I can get my hands on the JvC prints I think this is better for flavor, plus Undermine s -3 health loss isn't really useful for a mill deck), Surgical Extraction and Sadistic Sacrament .

Hey again i built a deck pretty close to yours just to test it out for my self, i threw in SnapcasterMage in just cause i really like him and Kraken Hatchling for some extra blocking. You should stay with the snapcaster being able to flashback a [[counterspell] is amazing not to mention i flashbacked a Glimpse the Unthinkable then a Visions of Beyond he was beat by like turn 6, the fastest i did it was turn 5 but i also dropped the Jace Beleren and added Jace, Memory Adept .

Nice, I hadn't considered how nice snapcasting the Visions might be. How many Snapcasters did you find was appropriate? It seems like 4 might be too much.

For Legacy, Jace, the Mind Sculptor is still legal. for drawing and blcoking purposes perhaps consider a Psychic Membrane ?

Hrrrm, I'd reccomend some twincasts... Snapcaster is a really good idea... I'll have to work him into mine somehow..

deck:dimir-quick-mill <-- My U/B Mill

@DukeNicky - That's a good point. The real question is, do I want to shell out 60 dollars for a Jace? xD I like Psychic Membrane a lot (it seems to have good synergy with the deck) and I originally had it in my sideboard, but I can't seem to find any room to make space for it in the main deck, and if you're going to sideboard it then it seemed like it made more sense to go with Wall of Air and cover all your anti-weenie bases. Definitely something to consider though.

@Amos - I'd love to include Twincast if I could find some room. What would consider dropping? Also, I really like that you included Nemesis of Reason in your deck. The only reason I haven't included it in mine is there doesn't seem to be an easy way to get it out early enough for it to make a difference. Is there anyway to get extra mana sources out earlier besides Sol Ring ?

Only thing I think you could do is swap your wilds for fetchlands and maybe add in Tome Scour . Grindstone wouldn't be too bad either.

Good call on the fetchland. Polluted Delta is obviously better here. Tome Scour would be nice also, I just need to figure out how to make room for it...

In an earlier version I had both a Haunting Echoes and a Traumatize in there and they had some nasty synergy. Would like to bring it back too.

Fetchlands Also work better with the crabs too

October 26, 2011 2:49 a.m.

Perplex is also a bit of a fun card to use to help with a little control

Judt added 2x Nephalia Drownyard

November 24, 2011 7:19 p.m.

@Stevepac9 & @whiteknight07:
