Maybeboard

I've never had to play test a deck so much. This commander has so many conditions to meet before you can even play her. But I will try.

Okay. I finished a somewhat playable version. Here's the game plan:

  • Ashnod, Flesh Mechanist serves the purpose of accelerating our early game by a couple of mana, and ONLY a couple of mana. You must cast Ashnod first turn all times in order to rid of summoning sickness as soon as possible.

  • Next turn, you need to cast a low mana creature card, preferably with one that has a death trigger or is retrievable from graveyard. Cards like Myr Sire, Reassembling Skeleton or Carrier Thrall. Use Ashnod to swing at a player, trigger her on attack ability to sacrifice our 2 mana creature then create a powerstone. From there, hopefully the 2 mana creature has a way to be brought or left a token so that you can go into another powerstone OR

This is the important lesson to learn: Ashnod's is NORMALLY no longer needed past 2 powerstones. She is a good blocker, a good equip for Sword of Fire and Ice and a sac for draw. So why create powerstones?

Hopefully by turn 3 or 4 we are using the powerstones to cast mana rocks and build up as much universal mana as possible. From there, we start the engine and spend it on powerful creature drops from Metalwork Colossus, Wurmcoil Engine, or Graaz, Unstoppable Juggernaut.

In short: Ramp, develop engine, drop big body and profit.

Due to the many requirements of the Commander, there is very little interaction in this deck. Any focus on you could get you out of the game as there are few ways to come back. Please be careful of this and make sure you try to stay under the radar while developing the board as much as possible.

If you have any suggestions, I'd love to hear them! This is the first deck that I (kinda) completed. There is much more testing in games that needs to be done really solidify this deck with it's defined strengths and weaknesses.
