This deck concept revolves mainly around using buffs on
Agent of the Fates
to kill creatures and slam the opponents, also with all the other types of removal this deck quickly pulls opponents into its pace with no chance to escape.
Here's how it plays to clear up any confusion:
Agent of the Fates
- The bread and butter of this deck. I always try to get him out as soon as possible, but still with 1 green mana open so that I can put a Ranger's Guile on him that prevents immediate removal. Once he's out, I can start dominating without worries.
Alpha Authority
- Cheap hexproof to keep
Agent of the Fates
alive, set off his heroic, and can make one of my beatsticks harder to block.
Rancor - 1 mana to set off
Agent of the Fates
, and buff anyone! It's hard to get rid of too, so I can reuse as needed.
Desecration Demon - It's a 4 mana for a flying beatstick that can easily be made hexproof, and forces an opponent to put even more creatures into the grave to deal with him effectively. He's nothing but synergistic with this decks theme, and use Burst of Strength after an opponent forces you to tap him for even more fun!
Diabolic Tutor
- This is either to get an
Agent of the Fates
, Ranger's Guile, or another buff card that's appropriate at the time. A great support card that helps ensure you have what you need at all times.
Giant Growth - 1 mana buff to set off
Agent of the Fates
, and do some serious damage.
Golgari Charm - Great for dealing with weenie decks that try to out produce this deck's removal, for regenerating everything after a board wipe or calculated blocking maneuver, or as another source of removal for those pesky enchantments.
Hero's Downfall - Targeted removal for creatures and Planeswalkers, nothing more needed to say.
Nighthowler
- Incredibly powerful finisher in a deck with so much removal on any creature you have; however it has the most power on
Agent of the Fates
, where even if your opponent has no creatures in the graveyard yet, it will trigger his ability, and start providing some serious ramp.
Putrefy - Targeted creature removal, and for dealing with pesky artifacts.
Vines of Vastwood - A card you want in your hand as often a possible to protect the cornerstones of your deck, and to set off
Agent of the Fates
for cheap, and the kicker is good for when you need to start doing some better damage.
Birds of Paradise - Great for mana fixing, mana acceleration, and it's only one mana.
Vraska the Unseen - Her final ability is another great win condition, but her -3 ability is even better because it's rechargeable removal. Also she's another big threat that takes the heat off of the other key elements of this deck.
Warriors' Lesson
- Much needed draw card, but even more importantly if you have 2
Agent of the Fates
on the field this card remove 2 creatures for only 1 mana.
Burst of Strength - It permanently buffs, it sets off
Agent of the Fates
, it sets up for some strategic blocking, and it makes your opponents lose their shit when cast on Desecration Demon after they forced him to tap! And all this for just one mana!
As you can see this deck has an answer for everything, with that answer being death, but you'd be surprised how efficient death is at dealing with all problems. Please feel free to give me constructive feedback to streamline this deck if you have any.
