Ahh sure:
Step 1: Play a Boros Reckoner and soulbound it to Nearheath Pilgrim (alternatively enchant with Scourge of the Nobilis )
Step 2: Attack (or defend) with Boros Reckoner , and engage in fisticuffs with another creature. (This is necessary to deal damage to the creature and start off the combo, alternatively you could smack him with a Lightning Helix or Chain Reaction or Blasphemous Act )
Step 3: Play Boros Charm to make all your permanents indestructible.
Step 4: Resolve combat damage / spell damage > Damage is dealt to Boros Reckoner > His ability activates, you target himself and deal equal damage to his indestructible self > You then gain this much life, and his ability activates again > Repeat Infinitely, you have infinite life.

Infinite life gain is cool, but more important is the threat of it. No one is gonna block boros reckoner if you have a card in your hand.

Interesting build +1, but with only 2 instants speed removal spells, what would be your gameplan versus a deck like infect that can kill you on turn 2? i would without doubt run 4x Lightning Bolt md and atleast 2x Path to Exile in the sideboard. Also cards like Ghostly Prison can help you stall until you can go off.

your right, fuck boros reckoner he's too expensive. I'll run him as a two of.

for two Lightning Helix , which i prefer over Lightning Bolt . And two Ghostly Prison 's which to be honest i forgot all about when i was making this deck. thanks a lot GobOnThese

Flavor wise the Garrison fits in best. I like Goldmane but I feel like Ajani Vengeant could be the better choice here. Firemane Avenger would be amazing since she has built in Battalion Lightning Helix Lightning Bolt is just a bonkers 1 drop common burn spell

I have to agree that flavourwise the garrison does fit better,m i was just wondering with 3 giants present if that was enough to warrant Ancient Amphitheater . My guess, is that it wouldn't be consistent enough.
April 14, 2013 8:39 a.m.
Exactly statistically speaking you won't be getting your giants and amphitheater together so I wouldn't bother at that point you're looking at 2 lands that will always enter tapped, and honestly the bounce land has more versatility and use to it.

I feel like the Ancient Amphitheater would operate better than the Boros Garrison , because it doesn't have to return a land to your hand to do it. And on the off chance that you do have a giant in hand, then you can play and tap it immediately. Personally I've never really been a fan of the old Ravnica "double-mana" lands. They put you behind for one turn, then ahead for one turn, then on par for the rest of the game. Not enough of a boost to really take that mana hit early on.
As far as the deck goes I really like it, seems like a lot of fun! One question though, why only 1x Nearheath Pilgrim ? It just seems like something that would be useful as a 2x or 3x. A little more reliable that way too.

Ahh, Xindlepete there's a good explanation for that, i've been slowly replacing him with Lightning Helix , as i have acquired them. I might replace him with Kargan Dragonlord if i can get one, he look like a lot of fun.

The Ravnica Karoo lands don't set you back a mana if you're using them right. If you tap your lands to cast things, then play Boros Garrison and return a tapped land to satisfy its EtB requirement, you're not behind on mana at all. The only time they screw you is if you have several in your opening hand; otherwise they're generally the same as having a land that makes two colors, you just have to be a touch more thoughtful about tapping your lands (since you can't tap for less that two). With three giants I don't think Amphitheater's chance to enter untapped can be expected to happen, making the two more or less the same in my book as your deck stands right now.
Toss in some lands with EtB abilities like Kabira Crossroads , Teetering Peaks , or New Benalia and you have a very good reason to use the Garrison.

how does Boros Reckoner with lifelink + Boros Charm give infinite life. are you implying somehow giving it infinite damage? i dont get it.
April 25, 2013 1:56 p.m.
Schuesseled says... #16
ahh ok.
Step 1: enchant Boros Reckoner with Scourge of the Nobilis he gets lifelink.
step 2: cast Boros Charm which makes him indestructible.
Step 3: Deal damage to Boros Reckoner , this is easily done in combat, or you could cast Lightning Helix at him.
Boros Reckoner says that when he is dealt damage, you deal damage to target creature, you target Boros Reckoner , the damage is dealt and then it triggers again.
Because Boros Reckoner is indestructible this can occur infinetly without him dying allowing you to gain infinite life from lifelink.
that help Dreno33, plus 1 if you like the deck.
April 25, 2013 2:01 p.m.
awwwww i get it. Just target him. I was drawing a blank and was thinking you target the player. But I am dumb. I get it :D

I agree Legion's Initiative looks amazing in here. I would suggest Rugged Prairie if you're able to get some. Double your Recokoner fun with Spitemare ? Balefire Liege ? Swap an Aurelia with the old guild master Razia, Boros Archangel ?

I really like aurelia, i wouldnt know where to put legions iniative i already have a really strong deck here, and there aren't many flicker appreciative cards.
April 26, 2013 8:04 a.m.
an option i found that works wonders with assemble the legion would be Cathars' Crusade . with assemble on the field all your creatures will just gradually become huge. iv'e gotten to the point were my creatures were over 50+ power and toughness. just an idea to consider.

it's an idea, but if i was gonna slide in a late game enchantment it would be True Conviction . But ill keep it in mind.
and remember if you +1 my deck, i'll +1 yours.
May 9, 2013 5:39 p.m.
you know, I never saw the card Assemble the Legion until this deck. I'm going to create a JUND deck with that card and using Doubling Season , Parallel Lives , etc.
When I create it, I'll link it to ya if you could please give some input.
btw, I +1/+1ed your deck. Looking sweet man.

Assembled Numbers is the Jund deck I just made
- Its a rough draft of the idea, but I can see it getting deadly pretty quickly.
anyone else who wants to check it out is more than welcome. Expertise is always welcomed! Its a Jund deck with great use of Assemble the Legion

Could you explain how your infinite life actually works?
I see no way to actually get infinite.
