Also, Exotic Orchard and Vivid Creek serve no purpose in your deck, for if you had color to your mana pool that is not in your commander's color identity, it adds colorless mana instead.

Grand Architect is found in the sideboard. Also, reading the rules over again I just realized that the sideboard is supposed to be only 10 cards, so I will be changing that soon. Also, I've never heard of that particular mana color rule so I will have to look into that and change the deck accordingly, thank you for the information.

Rings of Brighthearth cannot be used to copy Basalt Monolith 's ability.

Sorry bdrichar, it looks like my update cut off your comment so I will re-post it here: you said that Rings of Brighthearth cannot be used to copy Basalt Monolith 's ability.

I would like you to elaborate a little more on that, because I've done a bit of research on this combo before I decided to use it and I am pretty certain that the combo does work.

i'd swap Shimmer Myr for Vedalken Orrery or Leyline of Anticipation . Both do a better effect and are less likely to be picked off the board due to removal

Thran Dynamo is better than Everflowing Chalice unless you'd rather dump mana into the chalice when it comes into play. More often than not I've seen it go for 2 kicks.

Neurok Stealthsuit would be another card you could add for protection if you found your general needed it. Hope this helps

Hmm, all very good suggestions! I think I will go with Vedalken Orrery (although it's not a card I own currently). I do own Leyline of Anticipation but I'd rather go with the artifact instead.

You are also correct on the Everflowing Chalice , most of the time I only kick it twice, the only other times being when I pick it up late game and have more mana to burn. I used to have things like Trinket Mage in this deck that could easily fetch this for me if I needed it, but seeing as I took it out, and just about every other fetch artifact card I have is used for other more important pulls... you are probably right about swapping it out.

As for Neurok Stealthsuit , it is decent but if I am going to go that route, I might be better suited with things like Darksteel Plate or Mask of Avacyn instead. I just need to decide what is worth sacrificing for them...

On second thought.... I just realized Neurok Stealthsuit also gives me the ability to perform the equip at instant speed which could be much more powerful depending on the circumstance...

Rings of Brighthearth + Basalt Monolith

This doesn't work, the monolith is clearly a mana ability.

fireteam: It is not the mana ability that you are copying, it is the untap ability.

No worries, I also had to take a couple looks at this combo before I was convinced that it was valid.

You're using Extraplanar Lens , but not Caged Sun ? Yes it costs more, but its ability only effects you and works for any land that taps for blue mana. I would also suggest Gauntlet of Power , although that can help your opponent. I generally find that my having more mana is better than my opponent having more mana.

I also have a mono blue deck, though our ideas for the deck are very different. Feel free to check it out if you want some different cards. Vendilion Clique EDH.

Looks like it's a pain to play against though. Nice deck

Hi! I really like your deck! Could you help me with my deck? (tappedout.net/mtg-decks/day-of-machines/) I like artifacts and enchantments so I decided to get them together. My main problem is that I don't how to do combos. When I make a deck it's very linear. As you can see. If you could help me with my 'day of machines' deck I will be really greatful. I'll need that deck to be a little bit faster to make it more sinister. Can I simply add an infinity manacombo as you explained, would it work with my deck?
