Gameover209X, I want you to check out my version, Earth is becoming a Landfill. I feel it has become really solid.
Not a TON of changes, but I feel its got a bit more consistency and I wanted to tell you that I realized Rishadan Port is legal in Legacy! Literally my all-star in here. Its Icy Manipulator but ten times better. Even if you have multiples out, it becomes a mini version of Mana Short every turn. Definitely run a playset in yours if you can afford it. I promise this card alone will consistently win you more games then any other in this type of deck. It is already becoming one of my favorite decks yet. This card will force your opponents to waste any sort of Wasteland type lands in their deck on this.
Also, Creeping Tar Pit is becoming my go to mana sink in mid-late game. They will have some creatures out so you can feel safer swinging in with unblockability for 3 damage each turn. What I love even more is that it is safe from ever having to waste the upkeep cost from Pendrell Mists (:
Lastly, my other biggest change was running 4x Rhystic Study . They are my bread and butter in my build. My tempo is extraordinary and makes it difficult for them to decide if they should spend 2 extra mana and take the life loss for every spell they play to prevent my card draw. It's an amazing mind tool and I will ALWAYS recommend you run 4 in here.
Again, amazing deck idea. I gave you credit in my deck's page(:

Yo man,
I think your build is sweet. Rishadan Port is the nuts in a deck like this, and the Creeping Tar Pit is also a nice addition. I like to play on a budget but I think both cards increase the strength of the deck for sure.
It looks like you really made some nice changes and running the 4x Rhystic Study makes sense. I will surely keep this change in mind. I havent been playing alot of magic lately but I will be doing some playtesting soon and I'll let you know how I fare. I'll make sure to keep up with your build too and see how it keeps evolving.

This looks like a mean and very fun to play have you played it against a competitive an fast deck like show and tell, affinity, or dredge those seem like very hard match ups but I bet the pendrell mists and the propagandas save you there.

Lordofevolution, I just play magic for fun with my friends but no one likes to play against this haha.
I know Dreno33 has constructed a competitive legacy deck using this concept with some success. His deck is here: Earth is becoming a Landfill
if I dont hit Propaganda or War Tax in certain matchups I get destroyed though haha.

Oh I see but in my group we have proxied decks so we get the competitive ones or else they can't play very well, you're probably lucky lol I kind of miss the old casual games where we could bring whatever we want.

In that case I'd proxy Dreno33's deck. It's a tank man. And its like 5 grand haha.

Just because a deck is a control deck, and works cruelly, does not mean that it is a Cruel Control deck. Cruel Control is a Modern (and Old Standard) U/B/R (Grixis) control deck genre that utilizes Cruel Ultimatum as a finisher. This deck is not one of those types.

some more annoying cards Chalice of the Void is just fantastic in legacy, many of the best cards against you (Spell Pierce, Delver of Secrets Flip) get wrecked by this. it also prevents Brainstorm from ruining things as well as totally shutting down elves. another card that will make you opponent hurt is Trinisphere, shuts down dredge by preventing spells in their graveyard from being cast, as well as making them pay life off of their lands. Stifle can counter the abilities of fetchlands, further preventing them from making mana. all in all a really funny deck that seems pretty legit

So how are you going to get to 6 mana in legacy without ramp?
May 5, 2015 8:20 p.m.
Thoughtseize Blackmail for some pregame removal of those pesky counterspell cards might be nice.

fuster, thanks for the suggestion man. I would totally toss the tomb in there if it wasn't for the price tag. It would increase the value of Mana Web dramatically.
May 21, 2016 1:14 a.m.
You'd only really need urborg as a one-of since it's legendary, and at 15 it's a little less than the Sorin you're running in the deck.
That being said, I miss when this card was 5 bucks.

Dreno33 I had 2 of them in here but it really tended to under perform for me man. That's why I cut down to 1 of.
I'm going to cut an island and see how that goes, I used to have too man y competing 3 drops when I still ran white. We'll see how it does like this.
Thanks for the comment
