i recommend Erebos, God of the Dead for draw power over jace's inginuity. It also shuts down their life gain and he's a permanent hard to get rid of

I'd disagree with Erebos over Jace's Ingenuity. Erebos has upfront costs, he hurts your life total (which is a very important resource for control past RTR) and ultimately he isn't castable at instant speed. Also Perilous Vault.

Honestly I think the hedge on Ornithopter and Ensoul Artifact is a waste of your mainboard. Without Ensoul Artifact, Ornithopter is quite weak. And without an artifact Ensoul Artifact is a dead draw.

I would suggest dropping Ensoul Artifact, Ornithopter and Darksteel Citadel. In their place, I would run Radiant Fountain, Bile Blight and Nullify. I would also add Negate to you sideboard and maybe something like Murderous Cut

Harook, Negate and Murderous Cut on the sideboard is a good call.

Here is the thing about the Ensoul Artifact play. I would not play these if it were not for Jace's Ingenuity and Dig Through Time as they give me a better chance of getting it into my hand if need be. Keeping the three you suggested in play actually works against a potential advantage I have early game. It stands a decent chance in early game to have a 5/5 creature by turn 2 or 3 and attacking. It also helps to translate into late game advantage as well. If the rest of my cards can help keep the board state clean and i can get one of these combos or my Pearl Lake Ancient out then I can close. Additionally, this combination would have the element of surprise. Drop a Ornithopter first turn followed by an ensoul on turn 2 and you could possibly get two turns of hits in if not more before they are able to deal with it.

I agree that the combo is strong. I just don't think it fits in a control deck. The thing about control decks is that because they play so few threats, any of the threats they DO play have to have a really strong purpose in the deck. (Pearl Lake Ancient for instance can avoid removal and can't be countered)

What I mean by this is that if you only run one creature that can't be removed, then you are giving the other deck's creature control worth while removing overall worth from your deck.

It's a weird concept but it's true. For example: Say you are playing against a black deck. They run Murderous Cut. Your hand is control spells, lands and your combo. You play your combo. He kills it with Murderous Cut. You've now just used two cards to his one. One card which has no value otherwise in this matchup. And you've lost card advantage.

If it works for you it's fine of course, I'm only giving my opinion. But that's generally the mentality behind running a bunch of creatures or essentially none.

And I really would consider looking into somehow running Radiant Fountains. The lifegain can be very gamebreaking, especially in combo with Pearl Lake Ancient

Liliana Vess for card tutor instead of draw? Taigam's Scheming really good for setting up your next few plays?? helps ensure timly land drops and kill spells

Hello! Your deck, at least in my oppion, is pretty good as-is, but there can always be improvments. One thing that might help would be deciding whether you are going to play control or aggro/mid-range. From what i see, there is too many creatures already for a control deck. I would suggest taking out the Ornithopters and Ensoul Artifacts and at least one of the Pearl Lake Ancients. Also the Darksteel Citadels probably should go as well. Between you and me, Dissipate and Nullify are sub-par and should be removed and replaced with Bile Blight to remove those pesky early game critters and Jace's Ingenuity to help you pull ahead in the late game. Dig Through Time should be a four of in this style of deck. Ugin, the Spirit Dragon is iffy, i would suggest either him or Pearl Lake Ancient, Ashiok, Nightmare Weaver is a great pick for this deck and so is Perilous Vault. The last things is to maybe have four Polluted Deltas, but keep the Evolving Wilds. Great deck and I hope you have fun playing it! +1

Probably don't need 3 pearl lakes, 1-2 is fine. Ornithopter + Ensoul is kinda iffy, but if they're in for fun, I guess. Cards to consider: Crux of Fate, it's the best sweeper in the format for now. Neutralizing Blast for the sideboard, although depending on the meta may be mainboardable, Supplant Form is just a thought. Not sure how good it actually is. Reality Shift is great removal. Disdainful Stroke seems like a sideboard card, but with Siege Rhino, Sarkhan, the Dragonspeaker, Wingmate Roc, Sidisi, Brood Tyrant, Stoke the Flames, etc. it's probably mainboardable.
