pauginxz: because H.P. Lovecraft never wrote a story called The Plains/Islands/Swamps/Forests of Madness....

Why? What did you have in mind? Adding black?

Green.. you get Basking Rootwalla, Wild Mongrel and if you play by mtgo rules then you also get Arrogant Wurm

pauginxz: Hmm, I'm willing to consider this. What would you suggest to remove?

pauginxz: Aww. I really like that list, but there's no Forests in Antarctica. =(

I'll probably evolve this deck into that one once I get bored of it being mono-, so thanks for the idea. If you got the deck on TO (you MUST with 261 decks), I'll definitely +1 it and save it for later.

If you want more draw/discard, how about Cathartic Reunion?

Where is your Skred?

Xinofos: sorry I missed your comment, but thank-you for it regardless. I've considered Cathartic Reunion, but being a two drop seems contradictory to the all-in, RDW-style i'm going for. I will playtest it though, just to see.

(sidenote: I ended up using Cathartic Reunion in my 5-color pauper deck, though (Five Finger Bitch Slap), where speed is not as essential, so thanks, but laterally. =)

Xenkay: hmm. I actually don't have all snow-mountains in the deck, IRL, only a couple. But that is a terrific idea. thanks! =)

Jorgumander: glad you appreciate the reference. if you know of any other Lovecraft-themed decks, please let me know. I like to save them to a folder and share them on my list of lists.

This is my own HP Lovecraft EDH deck from a million years ago. It's a little different now. But the basic part is there. And Lovecraft is a favorite deck.

Great build. Love the description and that little backstory you crafted, even if red is definitely not the color I’d immediately associate with the thematic material. Good stuff

Balaam__: Thanks! I agree that Red wouldn't be anybody's first choice for flavor here but... there are Mountains in Antarctica, lol, so.... at least it works in my particular mind. =)
