Would Swiftspears not be good in this list? And Become Immense is a proven winner in these types of deck.Shivan Reef's inclusion baffles me but whatever floats your boat

Sorry The_Admaster, I forgot to mention that the deck is meant to be for post Shadows release, so I'm not including any khan's or fate cards. The Shivan Reef is to cast the sideboarded counter spells

I had chosen it for the first strike gnelson56 but Brute Strength could be a great card instead.

Hell yes, fate/stay references.

How about swapping battle mastery for Fireshrieker? It's a bit slower but you don't need a third color. Or use Assault Strobe / Temur Battle Rage They are cheaper and boost up your abbot. I wouldn't splash white because of one card in your mainboard.

Sorry ScrOuch, but none of those would work because they're not standard legal after shadows comes out

March 3, 2016 8:49 a.m.

The_Admaster says... #10

Neither have been standard legal for years (bar the Battle Rage of course)

Ah! Overlooked that :D My fault, sorry!

TO needs more Fate/stay Night references. +1

You definitely get a +1 if only for the title!!! Good deck too though.

With so much dash, I was shocked not to see Goblin Freerunner in here. for a 3/2 with evasion is really fantastic. Combos with Abbot too well. I would swap out some of the Stormsinger/Mage Ring Bullys/Dragon Fodders.

Really it depends if you're trying to run a Prowess/Burn shell or an Evasion/Buff shell.

Thanks anvildust. That could be a good card to have KablamoBoom, I'll add it to the maybe board and give it some more consideration once Shadows Over Innistrad comes out.

Your main problem here is that the bulk of your power cards are Khans/Fate. You're dropping tier one to tier three at best, just so you have to change cards that are legal for new cards you'd rather have instead of waiting with open slots - filled with the best cards you can have until they rotate.

Yeah I know NotSquishedYet but there's no guarantee that there will be any better cards in the new set, so until then I want to at least have some cards listed as possibilities. If, with the new set, I can't find enough viable options, I'll drop the idea and try something new with the Shadows Over Innistrad cards.

Reckless Bushwhacker seems like he'd be right at home here.

You're lacking in the creature department, though Shadows should help with that.

kingalvin says... #19

That's definitely a valid possibility trdl23, I'll have to give it more consideration when Shadows comes out

I don't really see the benefit of staying Red/Green after losing Become Immense. You only have Titanic Growth and Atarka's Command, and you still have the problem where you're basically dead in the water if you can't kill with your opening hand. Is there another reason you're keeping with R/G and not switching the U from the sideboard to the mainboard?

You'd get access to the counterspells you've got in the side, sure. But there's also Stormchaser Mage and Slip Through Space which gives you an evasive Prowess creature (as opposed to the bully) and a cantrip spell, which avoids emptying your hand. Maybe even consider Expedite and Grip of the Roil as other cantrips so you don't lose steam?

And like previously mentioned, Surge spells seem pretty great for your strategy. Reckless Bushwhacker seems like it's better than Stormsinger in almost every scenario.

I actually would have to agree with you for the most part DroseraC, I guess the main reason I'm staying with green for now is in case their are some good cards for green in Shadows Over Innistrad, if their isn't, I'll switch some stuff around. Swing back by the page after Shadows comes out, I could use your input if I do decide to veer blue instead of green.

DroseraC says... #22

Yeah, it's a toss up until we see the whole SoI set. I'm sure it will have some green pump spells but we'll have to see if they live up to Become Immense.

Berserkers' Onslaught would fit well in this deck.

That card is really bad, especially in this deck
