Run 4 Brutal Hordechief ... you won't regret it. As well as Foul-Tongue Shriek and Harsh Sustenance

Sorry, I forgot to mention Secure the Wastes and Mardu Strike Leader

Adding another Hordechief is something Id consider, but I dont think Id waste the energy on tokens when they dont bounce back with Athreos- maybe on the SB to swap out for the Gods. I just dont like the Strike Leader much tho. If his tokens spawned attacking with him (like Brimaz) Id be all about it, but those guys got dropped from the list a while back.

Hi! First off, nice deck, second, love the land, third, you need somethings.

Consider Utter End instead of Hero's Downfall. Exile bypasses indestructible and it can target more things too. I would run Raiders' Spoils just for more +1/+0 and card draw. Mardu Woe-Reaper a good one drop, but I feel its ability is wasted unless you are playing against a whip or delve deck, I would just side him. But those are just my thoughts and opinions.

P.S., I love your Drown in Sorrow + Athreos, God of Passage combo!

Dont play Raiders' Spoils. It is too expensive for what it does.

eh, Indestructible isn't something Im concerned about enough to want to pay four mana over three all the time. And I gotta agree with Gollum about Spoils, card draw is awesome, but its slightly not efficient enough. Personally I love the Woe-Reaper; with the Spear out its a 3/2 with minor lifegain for just one mana... but theres so many decent Warriors in standard right now there are plenty of valid substitutes for them. Thanks for checkin out my brew, appreciate the suggestions!

I can see your points, +1 from me! Say, what do you plan on doing after Theros cycles out?

Oh man, I havent a clue at the moment. Im kinda sad to see it go; theres a lot of fun cards in it (the Gods especially!) and seemed to be well balanced between the colors. I feel like the power distribution in the Takir block is a little less equal. But we still have M16 coming soon enough!!! Haha

StormTripper, I only run the Secure the Wastes for Harsh Sustenance and Foul-Tongue Shriek. Plus, Secure the Wastes is and instant that can really help with blocking.

Godsend might be another good addition to this. Cheaper than Utter End and they cant recast same cards exiled. Its also devotion to Athreos and gives +3/+3

Zeondragon That's a good possibility. I run a similar deck to this one and I might try that out!

Keep up the good work StormTripper!

I actually ran Godsend in the Warrior brew before Dragons was released, it was deff a lot of fun just as a random one-of, and one of the (many)under-rated cards in Standard right now. I thought of going with one Spear and one Godsend in this list; I forget why I chose not to at the moment...

Godsend is so under rated for it being an over powered artifact. I love playing it in my Sun Titan deck since its a 3 cost. Especially since you don't even do damage to exile it. Oh you have something with trample, yea its gone and not coming back.

Geez 10000 views and not one person telling you that you have a good deck. Lol well, could you please drop a description of how long your deck normally takes to stabilize? Oh and some win con's/combos. Thanks.

I like to see the different builds of this tribe. Mine has more removals to clear the way.

12x 1drops creatures, 4x chief of the edge, 4x arashin foremost, 4x brutal hordechief, 2x Athreos are the creatures. I have 3x bile blight, 3x ultimate price, 3x valorous stance (protection and anti big stuff), 2x hero's downfall because I don't have more. The rest are lands.

April 22, 2015 4:57 p.m.

Nice! In a pinch Murderous Cut is a good budget substitute for Hero's Downfall, but with Athreos on the board there tends to be less to Delve away because people things bounce back to your hand rather than taking the three.

HumstuckMTG says... #19

Yeah I don't like Cut in this deck because my sideboard against control involves return to the ranks since we have a lot of 2 power guys.

In other decks I usually substitute Heros for Cut and vise versa if I need more.

At first I thought you had not enough lands so I playtested and Urborg really helps the speed of the deck. Also since you have low cost creatures it's really comfy at least for me, so much that I didn't feel the need to mulligan having only two swamps in my starting hand. I also felt Obelisk of Urd was out of place here mostly for its cost but it would go down on turn four if you can get Urborg soon so it's a really good deck. Personally I am more of a control player so I would throw some enchantments and token generators here and there to grow these low cost dudes a little bit but this deck is to objective for that kind of stuff. haha +1 :)

Thanks man! - dig the name btw, haha
