I would say with that general, run lots of board wipes, and ramp. Why do you not have the normal black draw?

That would probably be a great idea, as you can see by looking at the maybe board, there a re a whole bunch of ideas and directions I really want to take this, along with all the janky interactions. A card I would love to own is Phyrexian Arena , but I would need to find one that I could trade for first, and Im still in the process of trying to acquire all of my Shadowborn Apostle's

I know the feeling, I am looking for an arena as well. Keep your eye out for a Necropotence also. Underworld Connections might help. Volrath's Stronghold , Crypt Ghast , Increasing Ambition , Demonic Collusion might help too.

With the 10 dollar cards, I try to plan for them, then find trades to get them one at a time. This site has been so great for that. So many people playing a diverse array of formats. Makes trading much easier.

Saw this the other day, if I want to go super competitive this would be fun, for me at least. Maralen of the Mornsong as commander, 56x Shadowborn Apostle , 1x Rune-Scarred Demon , 1x Thrumming Stone , 1x Tendrils of Agony , and 40x Swamps. Just cast your commander as fast as possible, tutor for Thrumming Stone , then cast a Shadowborn Apostle , ripples for the rest, sacrifice for Rune-Scarred Demon , who tutors for Tendrils of Agony , cast and win.

Awwww... Kuro, Pitlord feels lonely and neglected. Add in Dark Prophecy , too. fijord, that deck sounds like something that came out of Miley Cyrus, but it also looks like the coolest thing ever

Im so close to actually owning everything on this list!! Another card Ive added is Decree of Pain , which does two things black does really well, kill things and have conditional card advantage, which in its case, is pretty amazing. Not sure really what to remove though. Maybe some mana rocks? Not sure which ones less usefull though, I also have a Gilded Lotus if thats just better than Thran Dynamo . And trf6, sorry for not responding, I thought I had already but I guess not. While I have nothing against Kuro, Pitlord , I dont know what is worth removing for him, and Im not sure I need any more demons to summon, I think recursion is a better choice at this point. And as for Dark Prophecy , I have mixed feelings over, when I forst saw it I said YES! this is a greaqt card, sac 6 draw six lose 6 life, but then I thought about how I dont have an option if I want to draw and lose life, especially in the event of a board wipe. I would rather rely on Harvester of Souls since he allows me to draw whenever ANY creature dies, and it is a may ability, also I can tutor for him.

Athreos's creation begged for an EDH deck like this to be made. A Mortician Beetle could probably get a bit out of hand in a deck like this.

Very much agreed about Athreos, even in standard, hes begging to be built around. Mortician Beetle would be amazing, being able to to attack or block and boost him +6/+6 AND summon a demon? And even better with Dictate of Erebos out in play, potentially gaining 24 +1/+1 counters o.O thats just awesome.

i found that once you get the Shadowborn Apostle going with Athreos, I had to do an incredible amount of discarding especially with Harvester of Souls so i think you need Reliquary Tower and Spellbook

oh yeah, I actually do have Reliquary Tower in my deck, forgot to update on here though, thanks for reminding me. As for Spellbook though, its a good card, but I feel its slightly redundant since I should be able to tutor for Reliquary Tower when I need it. If you think its better to have both though, what would be worth removing for it?

If you think you can manage to constantly tutor for Reliquary Tower , i dont see why you would need spellbook

So I'm noticing that you're in BW colours...but you're not making use of the single best removal spell ever printed in magic...Vindicate ..it has 3 of the most amazing words ever printed on a MTG card "Destroy Target Permanent". I think that the only other 3 words that come anywhere close are "End The Turn" from Time Stop .

Also, there's another new removal spell being printed in Khans that you might want to add called Utter End.

Lol, thanks for the suggestion, problem with Vindicate is its ~$20 and I dont have the cash for that. However your right in pointing out that I have a lack of removal, I actually need to update this list a little to reflect the changes Ive made. That'll either happen once Khans comes out and I get a chance to add Utter End, or I find myself bored sometime, but Ive added in a few more wipes to my list.

Return to Dust is good artifact and enchantment removal for you.
