Sideboard

Welcome

We have creature who are actually eggs such as Roc Egg, creatures with changeling that count as eggs, creatures who become whatever creature type we want such as Metallic Mimic, creature that fetch eggs from library and graveyard Gerrard, Weatherlight HeroProtean HulkKarmic Guide and of course the Atla deck all-star: Mirror Entity which makes all creatures eggs.

When this deck goes off it:

  • Puts creatures from your hand, graveyard, and library onto the battlefield.

  • Puts infinite tokens into play.

  • Deals Infinite Damage to all opponents.

  • Does whatever the particular sac outlet does (infinite mana, mill entire library, you and creatures immune to damage, Infinite Power to Atla etc...)

We accomplish all these things by having our commanderAtla Palani, Nest Tender out with a sac outlet and an egg creature. We sac our egg creature for another egg creature and another etc until we run into either Protean Hulk or Karmic Guide, and a changeling with "Champion a creature" ability. When we get there, we will champion Karmic Guide, sac the champion (triggering Karmic Guide ETB), and return the champion to play infinitely, causing infinite Atla Palani, Nest Tender triggers and killing with card:Purphorous, God of the Forge. If Atla is still out when this happens, we end up with every creature in the deck out too.

This usually happens turn 4 or 5, so high power, but just shy of CEDH.

**Dealing with Combo-Breaker Creatures

There are two Non-egg/ non-fetching/ non-reanimating creatures in our deck that could potentially stop our combo, simply by popping up at the wrong time.

Kozilek, Butcher of Truth is there to shuffle your gy back into your library in the event that karmic guide gets exiled.

card:Purphorous, God of the Forge is there so we win immediately upon going off. Without him, we would have to wait until our next combat (we don't have haste) to swing with infinite creatures.

Here are a few ways you can prevent this from happening - Go off with more than one egg out. There are a lot of eggs in here for a reason!

-The classic: Combo off by increasing atla's toughness by at least 1 and putting infinite 0 cost activations of Mirror Entity on the stack, simultaneously killing all of your other creature and turning them into eggs (except Purphorous, who won't be a creature at the time)

-SacSummoner's Egg, (which has been errated to creature type "egg"), with another egg under it.

-Tutor Protean Hulk to the top of your library.

As you can see the odds are against the combo failing.

Infinite Creatures

Infinite Creatures are gotten by Dragon Egg and Roc Egg getting sacced, getting shuffled back in library, then popped out with Atla again infinite times.

Protecting Atla

Atla is key to our strategy, so we have both equipment boots, and possibly championing her until you want to go off. We also have enough ramp to recast her a couple times.

Removal

There are a lot of cards that can rain on our parade here (particularly stax pieces) so we have a decent suite of permanent removal.

Tricks and Tips

  1. While the deck can combo off just fine without it, running into Protean Hulk makes things much smoother as long as we choose the best target, which usually is: Karmic Guide + a one-drop egg. Use Karmic Guide to reanimate Protean Hulk, sac him to get a champion egg and we're good to go.

  2. Gerrard, Weatherlight Hero is a one use card...or is it? Just have a championed Karmic Guide out and sac the champion in response to Gerrard's death trigger, triggering Karmic guide to save him from being exiled. Then Gerrard's death trigger resolves and pulls all of your critters back out of the graveyard (including the champion). Rinse and repeat as necessary.

Well, what do you think? I need help to make this more competitive. It would be nice to reliably go off on turn 3 instead of 4. Please post comments and suggestions below and be sure to upvote if you like it!
