Got to go to FNM this week running this deck for the first time there. Took first place going 4-0.
Match 1: Boros Deck 2-0
Neither game took that long. First game I pulled a Archangel of Thune + Trostani, Selesnya's Voice
combo and populated some centaurs. Second game was even quicker, with ramping into Loxodon Smiter on turn two and dropping a Advent of the Wurm to block on turn three. Then I flash bestowed a Boon Satyr on turn four for the win.
Match 2: Mono-Blue Devotion 2-0
This was a really quick match as well. First game my opponent missed a land drop on turn 3 and 4, so he ran pretty slow. I had a Archangel of Thune + Trostani, Selesnya's Voice
combo and then dropped a Scion of Vitu-Ghazi the next turn. It was pretty awesome because the Scion came in so I gained four life and a +1/+1 counter on everyone, then the Bird comes in for casting from my hand so I gained one life and another +1/+1 counter on everyone, and then I got to populate the bird so I gained one life and another +1/+1 counter on everyone. I then attacked with the Archangel of Thune and gained life and another +1/+1 counter on everyone. It was pretty much over at that point. The second game was much quicker, because I sideboard out Trostani, Selesnya's Voice, Archangel of Thune, Scion of Vitu-Ghazi, and 3 Boon Satyrs for the Last Breaths, Mistcutter Hydras, and Skylashers. The Pro-Blue cards just took the game from the start.
Match 3: G/R Monsters 2-1
This match up worried me, since G/R is close to a mirror match to me and if he gets a Stormbreath Dragon I wouldn't have any answers since he is Pro-White. First game he ramped like cravy and it was not very long before I lost. The second and third games though went pretty much the same way. I ramped with Elvish Mystic and just out aggroed my opponent.
Match 4: U/W/R Control 2-1
Wasn't worried about this one at all. Lost the first game by the hands of a lot of control and a Elspeth, Sun's Champion. I then quickly sideboarded in my Pro-Blue with Mistcutter Hydra and Skylasher, as well as a Pithing Needle. The second game as I dropped a Call of the Conclave turn 2 when he didn't have mana to counter, a Loxodon Smiter turn 3 which can't be countered, and then a Mistcutter Hydra turn 4. It was really easy from there. The third game was interesting. I got out a Fleecemane Lion early and then was able to make him monstrous in response to a Detention Sphere. Then I just piggy backed two bestowed Boon Satyrs on him for the win.
