Not a horrible night, but it could have been better.
First match: 2-0
Matched up against a Rakdos cruel control deck. It was vicious and over in 5 turn both games. We had plenty of time to sit and BS while 2 azorius control decks went against each other. I am quite surprised that I beat this deck so quick, but he was mana screwed and only got mountains. Tough break.
Second Match: 1-2
Second Match up was a mono-black full of pack rats and gary.
First game went according to plan. Fairly early face smashing by the fabled hero. He was able to hold me off a few turns buy throwing a few rats and his mutavault in front of it. but is was all over soon enough.
Second game was a disaster. Muliganed down to 5 cards, 3 lands, no creatures. I don't think I ever caught a creature as the pack rats swarmed. over pretty quick.
Third Game is where I screwed up, and he won. Which I feel less bad about since he took first that night, but still a little upset at myself. Deck did exactly what it should, I just got greedy, and payed for it. He won. Enough said.
Third Round:
Matched up against a Mono-blue, looked like it was supposed to overwhelm with master of the waves x4, but didn't quite work out that way. This was very similar to the first round in which my deck worked exactly as it should, and I had a Hero of Iroas super boosted and Gods willing walk through the defenders first game, and the same with a fabled hero second game.
Over all the deck performed as it should (minus the muligan down to 5), and without my greediness I would have been playing for first. shrug Next time I guess.
