oh sorry. I realized that ghostly prison costs $7 and propaganda $2

Don't let the budget keep back suggestions. I might not go out and buy a card for $30 just for casual, but it's always good to know what cards would fit well in a deck.

Blazing Archon would be perfect for the deck... if he didn't cost 9. Plus once he is out I'd have to make sure that I had some method of keeping him safe.
Both Ghostly Prison and Propaganda are great cards but more useful in a pure control deck with win conditions that don't depend on dealing damage with creatures. Both cards might be more harmful then helpful unless I have stacked up a lot of mana to attack, but you're right that I could probably remove Hussar Patrol for something better.

Just realized that both Ghostly Prison and Propaganda only apply to creatures opponents control, so I added two Propoganda

The deck is no longer modern due to Propaganda though

Thanks for pointing that out. I took it out. Ghostly Prison would be the same card to sub in, but I'd probably have to run 4 to make use of its effect, and at $8 a card, I feel that the four spaces could be better spent elsewhere

Norn's Annex has a similar watered down effect, but it's not a enchantment.

Thanks for pointing that out. I'll have to play with the deck more to see how it plays as is before I add anything else to it, but something along that line could be useful

No problem, I'm glad to help. It looks like a fun deck. +1 from me!

the 3+ drops and mana sinks in this deck scream for more land, especially with all the detain spells missing a land early is really devastating to the deck, especially since it's a budget, non-casual modern deck where opposing decks have really efficient means to kill your non hexproof, low health creatures.
Though if this deck is more casual than what it's hubs list then maybe look into Avacyn Restored's Cloudshift and maybe Conjurer's Closet.

The thing about using Cloudshift or Conjurer's Closet is that they would destroy any of the Auras attached to the creature, which while it may save whatever creature is being targeted, could end up costing the game anyways because now your 8/8 Phalanx Leader with Daybreak Coronet and Holy Mantleis a measly 2/2 again, without the first strike, lifelink, vigilance, and protection from creatures.
You're right in saying that the deck is vulnerable to removal, and I'm considering a couple of different solutions, such as using totems armors. I feel like there are better ways to protect against removal, that don't ultimately accomplish exactly the same thing the opponent wanted anyway.

Quite simply you are too easily blown out by kill spells. Path to Exile, Abrupt Decay, a well timed Lightning Bolt etc.
Then you have cards like Innaction and stuff. These cards are not great, as they buy you a turn or so. Render Silent costs too much. Stuff like Mana Leak is generally better.
Ever considered a Zur deck?

if anything, go for Rule of Law, in the main or SB. The card destroys any combo decks, such as storm, and general damage combos.

Rule of Law is good and fits the flavor perfectly, so I'll definitely look into adding that.
LeaPlath Yeah, Inaction Injunction definitely is leaving, it was just a holdover from an earlier version of the game. I'll consider switching out Render Silent for Mana Leak, but Mana Leak is definitely more situational and the extra cost for Render Silent doesn't hurt as much in this deck, especially considering this isn't intended to really be a highly competitive deck where every last card is perfectly optimized

Also LeaPlath, don't mean to be ignorant, but what is a Zur deck?
June 17, 2016 12:07 a.m.
A zur deck is an esper midrange deck that uses Zur the Enchanter, backed up with countermagic. Zur can fetch stuff like Steel of the Godhead to lrovide a clock, Detention Sphere as a tech piece. Courser of Kruphix if you splash blue. Etc.

I will seriously have to look into using Zur the Enchanter as it would be a good fit for the deck
June 17, 2016 3:07 p.m.
Right now though, still a lot of issues, weak cards, bad enchantment targets etc

Just realized this deck is so expensive solely because of Daybreak Coronet, of which I have one from a pack... so I'm looking to replace that with something more reasonable if anyone has suggestions
