I need to know two things do you want to win or do you seriously want to keep boros theme or story? And how old are you (both serious questions)

I would like to edit it into something that can win FNMs. I want to keep the red white heroic theme, but I'm willing to give up on mana expensive cards like Aurelia, the Warleader .
Mainly I want to maximize the potential of Martial Glory
in early aggro strategy and be able to fall back on Elspeth, Sun's Champion
and Assemble the Legion
with Rootborn Defenses
.
I am in my late 20's.

Legion's Initiative, Guardian of the Gateless, Angelic Skirmisher, and/or Firemane Avenger?

Legion's Initiative is definitely worth a try, cuz I got two of those. Great bonus and amazing blink to save against board-wipe and removal. It won't work with Soldier of the Pantheon though, so that is what I would swipe out to open up card slots. Sideboard option there. Definitely works better with more midrange creatures swapped into the deck like Firemane Avenger
No on Colossus of Akros . High mana cost. I'm looking for aggro smack early heroic kill, or to eak out a boros charming mid-game win in less than ten turns.
Guardian of the Gateless is a great option, one or two copiesAngelic Skirmisher as well, just one
Akroan Hoplite will make an appearance if the deck morphs into more of a soldier token mid range deck, with Assemble the Legion , Door of Destinies

Legion's Initiative does work with Soldier of the Pantheon , it does not target.

From what I know protection from a color or multi-color renders the bearer of said trait immune to any and all effects relating to any card of that specified color as if it did not exist. Soldier of the Pantheon
is immune to Supreme Verdict
as well as Legion's Initiative
.
If you know the facts to be otherwise, and are 100% sure you are right, please site some sort of published ruling on the subject.
Input from others much appreciated.

The current reminder text for protection reads "This [object] can't be blocked, targeted, dealt damage, or enchanted by anything [quality]."
The effects of protection are often described using the mnemonic DEBT. The permanent or player with protection can't be:
Damaged by sources with the given quality (all such damage is prevented)
Enchanted or equipped by permanents with the given quality
Blocked by creatures with the given quality (if it's a creature)
Targeted by spells of the given quality, or abilities with sources of the given quality. http://wiki.mtgsalvation.com/article/Protection
So, no it is not safe from Supreme Verdict but it does however work with Legion's Initiative . You do at least gain the one life when they board wipe you lol. Cup half full man, cup half full. But it's because the card doesn't target as was already mentioned. Ravnica is spelled incorrectly in your description, just a head's up.
I'd cut the two Silence for two more Boros Charm .

Sorry but you are mistaken, Protection From X will give you protection in the form of not being able to be targetted by said color or source like Hexproof would for example. It also reduces all the damage done by said source to 0. The damage is still dealt, it's then reduce to 0, so if a white creature with lifelink attack you and you block with a creature that have protection from white the creature will deal the damage, the owner gain the life and all the damage reduced to 0 so your creature have nothing to fear.
Same apply to blocking, when you attack with a creature with protection the other player need to assign blocks, order his creature to target an attacking creature to block. The protection makes it impossible for your creature to target the other one with the protection, that's why they bypass defense.
Now for the other effects, like Supreme Verdict it does not target your creature so it passes. Also, it does not deal damage like a Anger of the Gods would (that damage would be reduced to 0 if you had Protection from Red for example) so the effect works on your creatures.
In this case, Soldier of the Pantheon would die from a Supreme Verdict (but would give you 1 life before kickign the bucket!), it would also be affected by Legion's Initiative +1 boost AND triggered ability if used since it does not target.

Verdict isnt targeting soldier so it still gets hit as with every board wipe. Same with the initiative. Just google the card name and add the word oracle at the end.

Thank yous to Midwest, Grimwolf79, KrymeAriver! This is the kind of clarity I was looking for on protection rules. So you were right HuskyRedz... And spellcheck
Any takes on the deck fellas? Is Legion's Initiative (2x copies available) a must have in this deck, or should I stick with more spell support ?
I can go with taking out 2x Silence for the 2x Boros Charm , but I will keep them handy on the side board. Cuz I like the effectiveness of the slowdown that Silence creates for decks that need to build up for mid or late game. I'm looking to win early with two or three good heroic attacks with the spell support of Gods Willing , Martial Glory , Boros Charm , and Ordeal of Heliod . I will soon be running 4x Anax and Cymede as the real lynch pin of the deck.
