Uh, maybe Restoration Angel for more flickering since it seems you only have Cloudshift at the moment.

I'd take out one Thundermaw Hellkite and one Aurelia, the Warleader for 2x Restoration Angel , or maybe drop a Searing Spear instead of Aurelia, the Warleader . You really don't want 4x Thundermaw Hellkite , I think.

you really need Restoration Angel in here shes only 4 mana so on turn 5 or so you should be able to play both. Also id run boros charm, it would protect your creatures from being interrupted

Aurelia, the Warleader is an angel and can't be flickered with Restoration Angel . I'd have to use Angel of Serenity and she is 3 white mana. I'd like to stick around 2 mana of one type at most.

Drop out Huntmaster of the Fells  Flip for Restoration Angel 's. This alone will improve your turn 3 combo approaches.

Assuming you:

Turn 1: Stomping Ground or Temple Garden (paid) to Arbor Elf or card:Avacyn's Pilgrim

Turn 2: Any other tap land or shock land to play Farseek to get another shock land and pay to untap it to play Arbor Elf or card:Avacyn's Pilgrim

Turn 3: Play a land and you have potentially 5 mana sources on the field. Burning-Tree Emissary into Restoration Angel bound Emissary (4 of the 5 used with another 2 in the pool) play Infernal Plunge sac'ing elf or pilgrim to add RRR for 5 in pool for Thundermaw Hellkite or Thragtusk .

Just changing the Huntmaster to the Angel will give y ou more chances to establish a very threatening board presence. Before they can get the mana for a board wipe or hard cast it.

Or you can save the Aurelia trick for the next turn you can flash in a Resto Angel to bounce Aurelia and then Cloudshift her 1-4 times.

Angel of Serenity also lasts until she leaves the field so forget her too.

  • my resto to bounce aurelia, brain fart. meant for hellkite or thragtusk for combat.

I can see why you would want to flicker Thragtusk but I don't see it necessary to flicker Thundermaw Hellkite unless they play a flyer that could be dangerous such as Desecration Demon .

Yeah my bad with the Restoration Angel , won't bounce Aurelia but would still be useful in general.

@x8bitGangsta or you could flash in Resto to bounce Thundermaw if they play their own Aurelia. You have a chance to respond to her entering the battlefield before state based is checked, bounce Thundermaw and drop that nasty girl before it shatters both Aurelia's.

That's a good idea. I'll probably side board Restoration Angel for that. It's an great situation solution.

  • Did you remember Sublime Archangel ? Since you can engage with two or more combat phases, Exauted ability will be relevand, because it will trigger and stack for each attack made;
  • Boros Charm as a combat trick, that can be really relevant too. But, as a solid combnation, Silverblade Paladin ! Imagine, attack with double strike like three times! With the soulbound ability, doesn't matter how many times Aurelia will leave battefield, it will aways back with the double strike;
  • Boros Charm is good to as a defensive trick, with its indestructible ability;
-SO i SUGGEST:

-1xHuntmaster of the Fells  Flip , -1xArbor Elf and -1xcard:Avacyn's Pilgrim for +3xSilverblade Paladin

-1xArbor Elf and -1xcard:Avacyn's Pilgrim for +2xSublime Archangel

-1xBurning-Tree Emissary and -2xThundermaw Hellkite for +3xRestoration Angel

  • For sideboard, i suggest card:Nightbird's Clutches and Boros Charm ;

I don't think I'll have the creature count on the field to justify Sublime Archangel . It's a great idea but attacking with everything will more than likely be the higher damage output. I've also decided to use Restoration Angel in certain situations for its flicker effect. Boros Charm and card:Nightbird's Clutches will be added to the sideboard. Thanks Face.

Mugging is also a decent sideboard option. If you manage to draw it and card:Nightbird's Clutches you can shut down their entire defensive for the kill, or might just remove one altogether with mugging either pre or post combat. (Which Pillar of Flame is better for anyway) Just a consideration ;p

Okay I have no idea what Enyeto was talking about. You actually can't respond to another aurelia entering the battlefield before state based actions are checked. Bouncing Thundermaw Hellkite wouldn't kill or do anything besides tap down the opposing aurelia, and it wouldn't save your own Aurelia at all.

The only relevant thing you said was that you could tap down an opposing aurelia before it attacks by bouncing the dragon, but not if you already have your own aurelia on the field.

If I had my own Aurelia, the Warleader I wouldn't worry about theirs. But I would be concerned if they got one out there against me. It might be something to win them the game.

@Goody You are right. Don't know what I was talking about either 0.0 But using Thundermaw to tap their Aurelia is useful and hopefully you have an answer for her before she gets in combat.

I don't understand how you get more then 2 attack phase o.O? Aurelia, the Warleader says when she " attacks for the (first) time each turn, untap all creatures you control..ect" so you only get 1 "for the 1st time each turn" -its not each time she attacks...please explain i dont get it, ty

x8bitGangsta says... #20

Okay when you Cloudshift her you are exiling her and she comes back. Well when this happens it is like you attacked with her for the first time in the turn again. So therefore she can attack 2 more times after the initial Cloudshift, so that is three attack phases in one turn. It can be more pending how much you flicker.

I did call Wizard of the Coast to get an official Judges Ruling on this.

That is a bad ass idea, if you can last against decks that kill by the 4th turn like mine. however if you got the combo off you would totally take control of the board. +1
