I really like this but i forsee people calling judges constantly, is there any source we could cite to fend off bad judges calls at different locales?

definately a cool idea Isochron Scepter would work really good in here if you wanted to play modern . its too bad the deck costs so much to build however

You could have Wizards send your local FNM store an email with their rulings on it with their seal. Have the shop print it off and have it on hand every night.

Just contact them through the phone or online. I personally called them.

The whole process took about 10-15 minutes at most.

Restoration Angel isn't in here because I can't use here on Aurelia, the Warleader. Resto is on the side board in case they run a lot of flyers.

Needs: Kessig Wolf Run cuz it'll make anyone of your guys a large threat.

I would get rid of the Arbor Elf's or go to 2 Farseek, or 2 and 2. That is too much space used on mana sources. You are looking at 33 mana production slots. 22 land, 4 Farseek, 3 Arbor Elf and 4 Infernal Plunge. I understand you are trying to get mid-range out on aggro time, but you are running a 75-90% chance each turn of drawing a card that will really hurt you instead of propel you into that Turn 2-3 monster .

@Kinetik615 Exiling a permanent and returning it to the battlefield removes the previous object and returns it to the battlefield as a new object. Therefore, if you Cloudshift Aurelia after first combat, the object that already attacked no longer exists and now enters as a fresh object that has not attacked. Because of the extra phase trigger she gets to attack and trigger an additional combat phase.

Cloudshift is one of my favorite cards, because you can:

  1. Shift your creature to trigger ETB/LTB effects

  2. Shift your creature to prevent targeted removal.

  3. Announce blocker on an enemy, shift and block a second.

  4. Steal a creature permanently (i.e. Act of Treason then Cloudshift their guy. It enters under your control as a new object, so the creature that would return to player no longer exists.

I just removed 2 Farseek for 1 Arbor Elf and 1 Burning-Tree Emissary. Arbor Elf is required to get the turn 2 creatures. Burning-Tree Emissary gives me a free creature to sacrifice for Infernal Plunge. I'll have to think about Kessig Wolf Run.

Thanks Enyeto. Much appreciated.

that is amazing, i didnt know cloudshift was so powerful. I may end up trying to build an enchantment deck, centered around Assemble the Legion Sphere of Safety Blind Obedience and Act of Treason Cloudshift for stealing all their wonderfully big creatures.

FredyTang says... #13

u cant stack that ability cause u can only declare attack once per combat phase. so there is no getting a 3rd or 4th combat phase

March 12, 2013 1:27 p.m.

Enyeto says... #14

@Ataxic -- 4xAct of Treason, 4xTraitorous Blood, 3xTraitorous Instinct, 4xZealous Conscripts, 4xCloudshift, 2xConjurer's Closet should be your main cards to build with. This way at the end of your turn you can choose to bounce the stolen creature out of play as your first end of turn action, making it yours. Restoration Angel is also very nice to have, however that puts your steal cost at 7.

Reverberate and Faithless Looting will be great cards in that deck also to ditch or copy a counter spell to get your steal through.

You attack for the first combat phase with Aurelia, the Warleader. During the untap step she declares is your window to Cloudshift her. When she attacks again it's as if she never attacked before because she is treated as a new creature. Therefore, you get her ability again. If you don't believe me you can call Wizards of the Coast. During the untap step Aurelia declares is the only chance you get to Cloudshift.

March 12, 2013 1:33 p.m.

Enyeto says... #16

@FredyTang Sorry Fredy, but you are mistaken.

During the first combat phase you declare her as an attacker along with all your other guys. Then her ability triggers, untaps them all and adds an additional combat phase that starts immediately after this one ends. During the additional combat phase, in the declare attackers step, you cast Cloudshift which brings her in as a new object. She attacks for the first time this turn again, untaps all your guys and an 'additional' combat phase is added.

March 12, 2013 1:38 p.m.

Enyeto says... #17

@x8bitGangsta You can let her do damage, and shift her in the additional combat phase's declare attackers step. You just can't declare your guys as attackers in the second phase, then shift her and try to attack because all your attacks are declared 'simultaneously'.

Enyeto not quite sure how to tag ya. But I have that enchantment steal creature deck working if you can take a look at it. And give me some suggestions that would be great. Thanks a lot.

x8bitGangsta says... #20

@Ataxic I can take a look at it for you as well and give some pointers, and to Tag a member simply put the users name in Brackets like you would for a card.

@x8bitGangsta I am proud of that deck, No one will be expecting that one coming this FMN. Its an annoying control mid-range combo deck using their creatures to kill them. If that doesnt spell class I dont know what does! I might drop that Martial Law for an additional Blind Obedience and that Boros Reckoner might go for something else Oblivion Ring Maybe.

Aurelia, the Warleader Attacks, Second combat phase, before attackers are decalred play Cloudshift she's now a new object and as you declare her as an attacker, her ability triggers again. (for the second first time :P)

@ Enyeto

  1. Does not work, you can only cast spells before or after blockers are declared, not during. So you cannot block one creature, play Cloudshift then block another with the same creature.

That's not so bad then, at least you can still ghost block. Seems I got a bad ruling during an event on that.

March 12, 2013 10:43 p.m.

Schuesseled says... #25

Yes, you can ghost block.

I also like Cloudshift for surprise blocking.

"Oh i see all your creatures are tapped, I'll just attack you with Spark Trooper for game.

Starts scooping up the cards, then i play Cloudshift on my Precinct Captain.
