Terrible... the fact that there is so much contested over requiring a judge to hover your games. Yet, there are 50 other broken combos that everyone just accepts the first time they see it. This combo is probably the least effort to understand how it works and that it's 100% legal.

To be honest I can see how one could question this combo because it specifies "Aurelia, the Warleader ", not "this card". On the same note I roughly the same argument on the other side with it being a "different" "Aurelia, the Warleader " "attacking for the first time". It is a complicated combo. Still water runs deep. xD

Note: I do understand that the combo works; I'm just saying that it's not a "noob" combo because of her text.

Hey I really like your deck and made my own version of it two days ago (already had the Pilgrims :P).Maybe you want to check it out, it's on MTGVault: http://www.mtgvault.com/cruncher/decks/naya-flicker/ The cards I have in my sideboard could be useful for yours as well I think.Keep up the good work!

Soul Ransom this had similar confusion. "It" refers to soul ransom being sacrificed and not the creature. With the way WOTC creates their sets, the higher rarity a card has, the more advanced the strategic use of it becomes.

Compare: Typhoid Rats , Vampire Nighthawk , Xathrid Gorgon . Rats is easy to understand in common, 1/1 with DT. Nighthawk is a little more complex with Flying, Lifelink and DT. The Gorgon has an activated ability that is easy to understand, but no new player will remember its effect or use it properly.

This concept was part of their New World Order (An amazing read if you haven't yet.) Keeping the game interesting, simple and complex for all players without ruining the new player learning curve.

No Resto Angel????Clearly deserves a shot here with Tusk, Huntmaster, and Aurelia, plus can be cast with Infernal plus one white.

Resto can't shift Aurelia---> Its an angel

March 26, 2013 1:01 p.m.

Sakage says... #9

so, to clarify, you drop aurelia, swing with your creatures for combat phase one, then as you go to untap everything, you flicker aurelia, she leaves as aurelia A and enters as aurelia B with haste obviously, causing her to be able to attack. then since this is the first time aurelia B has attacked this turn, she untaps everything at which point you can flicker her again.

That's correct

Well maybe she cant flick for the combo but id drop 1 triumph and add 1 resto main...just for the "do they have one?" factor that makes opponents think twice.

They can't Think Twice without any blue mana :3

@x39 I'll consider it but right now with as much mana as everything costs I'm not quite sure. My CMC is outrageous.

Distorted says... #15

CMC is pretty all over the place, but I do agree with starting at least one Restoration Angel and siding two. I'd also start Boros Charm 's. Remove all Triumph of Ferocity . It's a cool effect, but it's just too slow. It's the same problem I had with Staff of Nin in Jund Midrange. Sure, the draw is bamf in these slower builds, but slow draw in a slow deck just seems pointless.

How are the Sphinx's Revelation going for you? i really like this deck. how does it match up against control? or weenie aggro? -- nice deck +1 definitely. and the 4 battle phases with Aurelia haha! didn't even catch that.

i'm wondering, if staggered say someone spears a Arbor Elf or Avacyn's Pilgrim is there a comeback? or is it all by complete chance

March 30, 2013 1:08 a.m.

x8bitGangsta says... #18

It doesn't matter too much if they Searing Spear a mana dork. They just wasted it on something small over a Thragtusk or Huntmaster of the Fells  Flip . Usually I have enough chump blockers that it doesn't matter if it does take to turn 5 to play big.

Against weenie aggro I don't have too many problems unless I just get mana flooded or mana boned.

Against control I just get annoyed bounce back and counters and kill is a pain. Kill isn't too bad since I can Cloudshift my creature.

Removing a mana dork as actually very devastating. Good and s.art players will kill the form, sucks you have to waste 2mana to kill a 1/1, but it's better than accelerating fast as hell. Trust me. So I added arbor elf for more acceleration as well. I thought about testing cloudshiftx but since I splash black I decided I'd give undying evil a try after my buddy Aintrazi did it. Its such a trap card I love it.

-2 Garruk, Primal Hunter +2 Domri Rade because:
1. Domri's +1 can help you find the creature you need (specifically Aurelia),
2. his -2 can help you with removal,
3. and his -7 is just amazing! Wolfir Silverheart ?

They're not enough creatures in this to justify Domri Rade . Garruk, Primal Hunter gives me guaranteed draw.

Wolfir Silverheart is high mana cost. He is a wonderful card but with Thragtusk and Huntmaster of the Fells  Flip having life gain I can't afford to trade them out for something without life gain. Also, Huntmaster of the Fells  Flip gives me some much needed control every time he flips. I'll test out Wolfir Silverheart and keep an open mind though.

I use to have -1 Burning-Tree Emissary and +1 Aurelia, the Warleader but i saw Aurelia way too many times. I threw in the BTE in place of Aurelia cause it gave me another sacrifice outlet and 2 mana after it hit the field which is invaluable to this deck.

How about Silverblade Paladin ?

April 2, 2013 12:36 p.m.

x8bitGangsta says... #24

I use to have them in there but decided to take them out cause they were a dead draw too often. I'd rather play nothing than Silverblade Paladin on a turn just for it to get killed. I decided Boros Charm was a better choice for some damage push if needed, double strike for a kill or high damage output, and invincibility to protect from those pesky board wipes.
