Sideboard

This is my take on an Avacyn, Angel of Hope EDH deck. It initially started when one of my best friends built his own Avacyn Angel Tribal deck. I thought his build could use some help but he didn't want to spend any money on cards. So, I did what any person would do when they found a new card to obsess over.. I built my own version. And yes, he was pissed off.

IT'S OVER NINE THOUSAAANNNNNDDDDD! (views. Thanks to everyone who has commented and upvoted!)

Avacyn

PRIMER IN PROGRESS

Angel of Destiny and Celestial Mantle is my new favorite wincon.

Avacyn

So, you want to build Angel Tribal? Well, if you like flying over swarms of goblins, elves and squirrels, this might be the build for you. The current build focuses on quick ramp, Angels who can put up with a lot of different situations and control to stall until we can get the main stars of the deck out.

You'll worship Avacyn if you like:

Being able to blow up all of your opponents boards while you remain unaffected.

Being able to freely attack while your enemies are stuck behind a Moat .

Gaining enough life and more to withstand a Krenko, Mob Boss deck.

Hating on Atraxa, Praetors' Voice and Superfriends decks.

Having Sorin Markov as your dad

LAND DESTRUCTION.

You'll dislike Avacyn and all the good she stood for if:

You like quick, T4 wins.

You absolutely love infinite combo wins.

You prefer to deal direct damage instead of creature damage.

You own more than 1 Anguished Unmaking

Avacyn

This build has quite a few high costing cards and for that reason, early game ramp is vital. Even our commander, Avacyn, Angel of Hope costs 8 to cast for the first time. With a good meta, you can bet you'll have to cast her multiple times per game. That's where these mana rocks shine.

Caged Sun

Chrome Mox

Gauntlet of Power

Gilded Lotus

Grim Monolith

Nyx Lotus

Mana Crypt

Mana Vault

Mox Diamond

Mox Opal

Sol Ring

Urza's Incubator

Extraplanar Lens

Herald of War

Gift of Estates

Land Tax

Tithe

This became a key part of the deck because this isn't a Tier 1 build and sometimes you'll be left with less than 10 life before you can stop your opponents in their tracks. Once you've stopped them and started gaining life, you can easily snowball until your life total is over 200.

Angel of Invention

Angelic Skirmisher

Archangel of Thune

Baneslayer Angel

Battlegrace Angel

Lyra Dawnbringer

Resplendent Angel

Victory's Herald

Beacon of Immortality

Boon Reflection

Celestial Mantle

True Conviction

So, you've got your Avacyn, Angel of Hope on the field with Worldslayer attached, hoping no opponents have an answer before you can swing... these cards should help you till you can live the dream and have no friends.

Guardian of the Gateless

Indomitable Archangel

Rebuff the Wicked

Teferi's Protection

Platinum Angel

Akroma's Memorial

Lightning Greaves

Swiftfoot Boots

Finally cast Avacyn, Angel of Hope or Sephara, Sky's Blade ? THEN ITS TIME TO BLOW STUFF UP. NOT JUST SOME STUFF, ALL OF IT. They've got creatures? DESTROY THEM. They're mono green with 10 lands on turn 3? ARMAGEDDON THOSE TREES, MAN. One of your opponents just cast a Mycosynth Lattice ? TIME TO CAST HOUR OF REVELATION (Yes, with Avacyn in play).

Wrath of God

Armageddon

Ravages of War

Hour of Revelation

Worldslayer

Finally, it's time to discuss the beaters. The angels that have enough power to slaughter most, if not all, in their wake or support the others to do so.

Avacyn, Angel of Hope

Akroma, Angel of Wrath

Sephara, Sky's Blade

Lyra Dawnbringer

Serra's Guardian

Sublime Archangel

Shadowspear

Serra Avenger

Still working this part out.

Austere Command

Land Tax and Scroll Rack - Fill your hand with lands, then scroll rack them away to the top of your deck, sifting through to find what you need.

Angel of Destiny with Celestial Mantle - Attack an opponent and if AoD is still on the field at the end of the turn, they lose the game. Lifelink cards like True Conviction or life doublers like Boon Reflection can help this happen

Avacyn, Angel of Hope and The Tabernacle at Pendrell Vale makes your creatures indestructible and voids the Tab Tax.

WINCONS AND CARDS NOT IN THE DECK BY CHOICE

Feel free to add these cards to your build for easier wins!

Aetherflux Reservoir Felidar Sovereign Test of Endurance Nevinyrral's Disk Parhelion II

Isochron Scepter with the instant package of Abeyance Silence Orim's Chant

Thanks to Joedragon3 for recommending Worldslayer all those years ago.

Thanks to NoSoyYucateco for informing me about the Scroll Tax combo

Thanks to Forkbeard for being awesome

And of course, thanks to all of TappedOut's users who have upvoted and supported the deck throughout the years.

I'd also like to share a link to another Avacyn EDH build that I've personally seen grow and become fearsome and fun at the same time. It's different from my build because it focuses on Land Destruction and Control with enough Life Gain to make his build last through the toughest of trials.

May I present to you, another great build of Avacyn, Angel of Hope by Poptartz95:

Even though I haven't heard from Poptartz95 in years, I'll keep his deck posted here since he's the one who made me really want to see just how far I could push my build. Thanks bro.
