I've never really understood why you would run a full playset of Spell Snare. Could you enlighten me?

Horrendous says... #2

That's not in this deck

Well shit. I literally can't read.

Note to self: Peirce does not equal Snare.

Lol its all good spell snare is nice for side board once you know what your fighting specially if they have mana leaks I wouldn't go a full set though

I love the deck :D, +1, but personally I would run Swan Song instead of Spell Pierce simply because I'd rather them get a 2/2 Bird that doesn't change the fact that you're pulling off the combo than run the risk of them paying it away.

Thank you, I will definitely consider that! Might do a 2-2 combo of them.

i agree. in most decks it wouldn't work, but this is turn-3-kill.deck

so those 2/2's shouldnt cause an issue

Well, B0eff, it's not. If you make Felidar Guardian an artifact with Liquimetal Coating and bounce him with another Felidar Guardian, he leaves the battlefield, and technically the eot effect of Liquimetal Coating or Argent Mutation ends and the bliked Felidar Guardian returns as a nonartifact, so that combo isn't infinite

March 15, 2017 6:04 p.m.

Horrendous says... #9

It is infinite with the mill not the life gain and dmg aspect though

March 15, 2017 6:11 p.m.

I never said it was tbh, but that combo isn't infinite (that's my point)

March 15, 2017 6:24 p.m.

Oh wait, it is. Soz. I thought Altar of the Brood was artifact etb, not just any permanent. It is infinite.

Haha. Sometimes tappedout needs a "like"-function for comments.

I agree B0effe lol

Sorry if I'm missing something, but why is Argent Mutation in here?

March 16, 2017 1:18 p.m.

Horrendous says... #15

Well, it does the same as liquimetal, so. Say it's game 2 of the round they've seen the combo and are rdy to destroy liquimetal or counter it but they havnt seen mutation yet, well there ya go. just play it next round and infinite mill again also it's like a fail safe and an extra way to get the combo.

Ok what am I missing? How do the copies of Saheeli become artifacts?

March 16, 2017 9:37 p.m.

Horrendous says... #17

Her copy ability makes them artifacts

lagotripha says... #18

Drift of Phantasms might be a better tutor as it can fetch argent? Restoration Angel as backup for the felidar combo?

March 17, 2017 4:38 p.m.

BioProfDude says... #19

Um, in your first win combo, once Saheeli Rai leaves the battlefield and re-enters, she is no longer an artifact and cannot be her own target as a result. You would have to be able to untap Liquimetal Coating with each Saheeli Rai blink, or it only works as a blink the first time. Once she leaves the battlefield, the target for Liquimetal Coating is gone and she re-enters as a new target, so the effects are gone.

This would seem to be true for your first 3 win conditions. Sorry...

March 17, 2017 5:24 p.m.

BioProfDude says... #20

I'm stupid. Nevermind. I get how it would work. When she's blinked back in she is an artifact in addition to her other types, so you don't need to un-tap and re-tap Liquimetal Coating each time. Derp...

Nice combo! Sorry I said something so silly! :-)

March 17, 2017 5:32 p.m.

Horrendous says... #21

Lol its all good she's not actually blinking in anyway your just making copies of her :) she only blinks with the felidar combo

March 17, 2017 5:37 p.m. Edited.

BioProfDude says... #22

Ya, I get it, just using "blinking" incorrectly, but it's the copy making causing the "old" copy to go away. Very clever, by the way. How was this missed so badly by so many people for so long?

March 17, 2017 6:08 p.m.

Horrendous says... #23

Not sure honestly lol its super fun to play though, chance to go infinite any turn after 3 is fun and so many ppl don't know what to counter when they go against it. Mill decks hurt though specially if they get all of my Saheeli and felidar then there's nothing to combo off of haha

Hello - Fireweaver is cool but what about Impact Tremors? It's less "boltable".

Combo 1 doesn't work. You use liquimetal coating, and then you make a copy, with a sorcery speed ability. A new copy of Saheeli comes into play... and... causes the planeswalker-version of the legendary rule to trigger. You can either keep the original, artifact Saheeli, who has shot her ability, or the new spiffy non-artifact. And only after you've removed the excess saheeli, and the stack has resolved, do you get to put a new planeswalker ability on the stack... from the new, non-artifactual saheeli.
