Rivals of Ixalan Update —Jan. 23, 2018
A couple cards are making it in from Rivals of Ixalan. Also made a few other adjustments over the past few weeks based on suggestions.
Nekrataal --->Ravenous Chupacabra: The Chupacabra is essentially a strict upgrade from Nekrataal as it doesn't have the non-black, non-artifact drawback.
Thought Vessel --->Twilight Prophet: Twilight Prophet is exactly what this deck is looking for, card draw with life drain attached to it. Ascend is easy to trigger.
Soul Warden + Soul's Attendant --->Vizkopa Guildmage + Fleshbag Marauder : The soul sisters were ultimately fairly low impact as a commenter suggested. Suture Priest can stay because I do find his ability to slowly ping opponents useful. Vizkopa Guildmage gets another try. With cabal coffers I often fins I do have enough mana to drain people with her ability.
Aetherflux Reservoir ---> Athreos, God of Passage: Aetherflux Reservoir painted a big target on me and was inconsistent. This deck is more about incremental value and that's what Athreos offers.
Mortify ---> Swords to Plowshares: On balance I believe the cheap 1 mana casting cost of Swords to Plowshares outweighs the ability to destroy enchantments with Mortify. The deck has enough removal that can remove enchantments.
Diabolic Tutor ---> Vampiric Tutor: Splurged on a copy of Vampiric Tutor. Better tutor overall than Diabolic.
Great deck...I have a few questions regarding some of your card choices:
Aetherflux Reservoir: I've initially included it in my build (but removed it) but find that it draws too much attention and aggro when I play it early in order to keep my life totals down. When my life totals are in an activation range even without this card on the field, I will always be the first one to be gunned down. Have you been in a similar situation?
Soul sisters: Does those quantitative lifegain really help? I find the soul sisters work better in Karlov than Ayli.
Other than that I really digg your build +1 from me!

@Razulghul - Wall of Blood, Ayli, and Sanguine Bond is freakin' genius! Love it! Just need to follow it up with Tainted Sigil to nuke another player or three!

Enral, sorry for missing your comment for this long lol.
I agree with you both about Soul Sisters and Aetherflux Reservoir. I am on the fence with them. Aetherflux Reservoir I usually hold back until late game when I can take someone out with it. It has won me games but it has also targeted me as you've said. It's played high risk, high reward for me.
The Soul Sisters do net me incremental value, helping me pad my life total. I'm torn whether they are impactful enough though.
Any suggestions on replacements?

Hey man, I dig the deck but I gotta say that it's missing Wall of Blood. I run an Ayli list (Ayli reflects, Boon or Wound?) and it is just awesome. It can win the game with Sanguine Bond, no one sees it coming either.
