How about running Scrying Sheets? It's pretty helpful with all of your snow lands, and you have multiple things that can show the top card of your library.

Force of Will seems like it would be good.

Force of Will is out of budget, thanks though. I'm going to put it in once I can afford it.

Mystical Tutor is great if you need to find an answer to a certain problem. It is great for getting early leads with Temporal Mastery for an extra turn on turn 3-4. Also another target for the scepter

Oooh yeah forgot about that, thanks!

Omniscience? With all that draw you need a lot of mana or some other means to play your cards.

I would suggest Tamiyo, the Moon Sage. Her -2 lets you draw for all you tapped wizards again

How about Soldevi Excavations for the actual scry ability and you do not need the snow land to make it go like Scrying Sheets. As a bonus it also only costs one to activate. And what about Mikokoro, Center of the Sea, it pushes the price boundary but it ensures that you do not need Azami to win if the land is out.

I'll consider Mikokoro, and certainly add it to the list of things I'm going to add to this deck once I actually can spend money on it.

As for the other land, I'm not sure that all the scry is necessary, so I'll leave that one out for now.

As you may have seen, my Azami deck is far more dedicated to comboing off. It's got an aCMC of 2.27 which I'd like to drop to around 2.0 in the future. It lacks any real ability to control the board. I believe if you want to go a more controlling route, playing a tri-color combination like Esper is much stronger as a more varied color identity gives you access to greater tools. The real strength behind Azami is that she gives you access to astonishing draw power. As such, my deck is full of tiny wizards that I can throw out, countermagic, control, utility, and combo pieces.

Any and all combos in EDH should hold utility outside of the combo itself. Enter the Infinite and Omniscience are incredibly bulky. Most of the time, they'll end up clogging your hand. Instead, I recommend the Sigil Tracer + 3 other wizards + Turnabout for infinite mana. I also love Sensei's Divining Top + Magus of the Future + Etherium Sculptor. Sensei's is a bit expensive, yes, but it's a very nice investment.

My advice is to pretty much strip the deck of any and all goodstuff, streamline it as much as you can, instate a much more efficient suite of counterspells, put in some more tutors, and rethink your combos.

Allstar cards in Azami are: Back to Basics to screw people out of mana, Intruder Alarm to draw half your deck by the time you reach your turn, Fabricate, Merchant Scroll, Reshape, Long-Term Plans, Muddle the Mixture, Trinket Mage, and Vedalken AEthermage to tutor for combo pieces and answers to threats, and finally Stonybrook Banneret because paying for wizards is not nice.

If you want advice on cards to cut and so on, don't hesitate to ask.

Thanks! I didn't even know Stonybrook Banneret was a card. I'll take a look and add a bunch of those in.

How many counters do you think I should be running?

I say something like 10. Alternatively, you can run other control elements. Things like Rapid Hybridization are awesome.

June 8, 2015 6:42 p.m.

Yeah I've gotta get my hands on one of those and a Pongify

Yeah. If you get Merchant Scroll, you only need 2 sweepers. I think AEtherspouts and Cyclonic Rift are sufficient. If you drop Howling Mine, Jace, Memory Adept, Monastery Siege, Door of Destinies, Venser's Journal, etc. you can afford more counters and such. Some of my favorites are Dispel, Delay, and Swan Song. Invest in the type you can use to protect yourself. Don't aim to control the board and you'll have a much easier time managing your own end.

I ran her for a while. I found that for a 3 mana wizard, she did surprisingly little. Heck, Kira, Great Glass-Spinner felt more impactful and that thing didn't even draw me cards. I didn't really like either one.
