This deck is designed to showcase the power of detain unique to Azorius. This deck is really trying to be RtR block specific however there are certain tools that need to be pulled out of the standard set to make the deck much more effective.

I must say that I borrowed heavily from http://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/azorius-humans-02-10-12-1/ deck, so props to him.

I can point out some of the important points for this deck and the theory behind certain synergy.

Azorius Arrester and Lyev Skyknight are both great cards and have the detain feature on entering the battlefield. This is good but what makes it great is when you mix this with Cloudshift. This allows you to activate the detain ability again, clean of any bad magics, and no summoning sickness this time since they didn't actually get summoned again.

Detention Sphere is really to counter token generation decks.

When all else fails, Supreme Verdict.

Rest in Peace for side board for graveyard decks.

If I play blue I always have some counter. Syncopate is a scaling Manaleak, so I think yes please.

Archon of the Triumvirate is your coup de grace.

Isperia, Supreme Judge, Inaction Injunction, Sphinx's Revelation, and Righteous Authority are all there to give you draw and to beef up your Geist of Saint Traft.
