With all the triggered abilities that exile stuff, you should consider Strionic Resonator , to double the usefulness of
Flickerwisp
Leonin Relic-Warder
Restoration Angel
Wall of Omens
Detention Sphere
Journey to Nowhere
Oblivion Ring , and
Lone Missionary .

these are cards that blink, but cost a ton of mana to work properly. i can consider the closet, but the navigator is too slow and too easily removed to make it to the main deck.

Would Ghostly Flicker work for you? Seems like a good blink card considering it blinks twice for 3 mana

Caligula says... #7

Ah nvm just noticed it only targets yourself.

Mistmeadow Witch and Nephalia Smuggler would allow you to safely evoke things without using your instant blinks. It also allows for more protection from spot removal. Their abilities are a bit expensive though and I usually run them with Training Grounds for a 2 mana repeatable flicker.

Another possible option is Galepowder Mage . A 3/3 flying body is already good but it can remove potential blockers or even flicker your own stuff for free.

Galepowder+Stonehorn+Mistmeadow to save either from removal=No more combat phases.

Have you considered a card called Cloudstone Curio , it can make things very interesting, also nice deck

April 14, 2014 3:38 a.m.

Boza says... #12

I have not considered Cloudstone curio, but it is now on my Wants list for the deck. It HAS to be tested thoroughly though. It strains the thinly spread mana so much. The card itself is more focused on providing immediate value for more combo focused decks.

However, it could be very good with a more enchantment focused build. Theros provides a multitude of enchantments that in Modern can be AEther Vial ed in for value with the acid and cloudstone, for example.

The deck focuses on blinking because it is cheaper than replaying stuff. That said, it does run out of stuff for blinking in the long game without releying on venser. I will have to test this out, thanks for the good call.

yes, very true cloudstone curio would work best with other changes as well, if you do decide to add more enchantments than Copy Enchantment is fairly decent as you can have it enter as detention sphere or reality acid and bounce it whenever you want something else

Another card could be Drift of Phantasms which you can transmute for a multitude of cards or use as a blocker or

I usually play multiplayer so having a lot recursion is something i prefer personally but thats just me

The goal of this deck is "survive until you drop Venser, then Armageddon the opponent over a few turns". Everything else just enables this to happen. Copying enchantments is not very good when 1 acid is enough. Drift is okay but I am in no hurry to find my acid, the goal is just to survive until I do.

The coolest tech by far I just recently learned about is that I can play a face down Akroma, Angel of Wrath and blink her to get the full creature. I will be trying to find some of those, as well as include them in the deck somewhere.

Cpt_Awesome says... #15

Yeah that's fair I actually had an idea for a deck based around reality acid before I found yours. Mine was going to be more enchantment based, but I'd figured i would share my idea's anyway

That being said, I don't quite understand how you can play Akroma, Angel of Wrath face down but it has made me very curious

i meant Akroma, Angel of Fury ...

Oh right of course, don't know how i missed that. That would be a very nasty combo

Not sure if it would work well consider the competition for the 3 CMC slot but Ghostway could be a nice protection from field wipes and as a bonus triggers all ETBs again.

Another possibility just for lols is Conjured Currency and Perplexing Chimera although the Currency is probably the better option unless you run more non-spell exile(like Mistmeadow Witch ) because you can exile it with Venser after trading it you bring it back under your control.

Nice deck man! This reminds me of a deck I had back during Timespiral block. It used Reality Acid along with a set of Reality Strobe s and Paradox Haze s to create a loop of bouncing stuff every turn until the opponent can't play anything. I just splashed black instead of white to abuse some black suspend cards like Curse of the Cabal and Festering March , but I may splash white now instead after seeing your deck. I'll have to add that deck to TO now so I can tweak it. +1 from me!

Oh, Dream Stalker was another way I bounced Reality Acid in that deck, which I liked since it was only 2 mana to cast. Maybe you could try him out too?

Boza says... #20

Dream Stalker was part of the original Budget build for the deck, blinking the acid is much cooler, but it is the alternative way to win for the deck :) Creature beats always work.

Why not a plain counter, Remand just slows down the game., and imo worthless.

June 9, 2014 5:56 a.m.

Boza says... #22

Precisely! I want to slow down the game, this is mothereffing control deck, damn right I want a slower game!

Plus, it draws a card.

What about Conjurer's Closet ?

Bipolarprobe says... #24

This deck looks like a lot of fun. Always nice to see something outside of the norm being played in modern. But what do you mean when you say Reality Acid works vs hexproof? Regardless +1 from me.

June 16, 2014 8:51 a.m.

Boza says... #25

Conjurer's closet does not work with non-creatures like venser, plus I feel like paying more than 1 mana for blinking is too much, hence just the singleton Momentary Blink . So, the closet is a no-go in a fast-paced modern.

Working vs hexproof means that when Reality acid is blinked, it can reenter attached to anything it can legally be attached to, including hexproof creatures, since it no longer targets.

The deck is in fact a lot of fun, but it feels like it needs a bit more oomph, what it is though exactly, no idea.
