This is my second attempt at an Standard Legal Azorius Control Deck. It runs on the power of the bounce and the power of detain. Usually these two work in concert, wherein I bounce my own detain creatures to return them to my hand to be played and detained once more, the idea is that I can bounce and detain myself and my opponent long enough that I can get several flyers to beat down the enemy or get out Azor's Elocutors to filibuster my way to victory (because I think that death by Filibuster is the most hilarious win con in MTG, aside perhaps, from death by hornet sting).

Ephara, God of the Polis: Oh she's a mean one alright, though there is plenty of removal for gods these days, her indestructibility makes simply blasting away a difficult proposition, and her other ability ensures that my hand will remain relatively full, so that I can A) get more lands and B) have options. Being a powerful wompy stompy creature is helpful too.

Lavinia of the Tenth : Lavinia has board control written all over her, she hits the field once, detains virtually everything most opponents of the field, with a bit of bouncing, she can lock down the opponent for quite some time indeed.

Arbiter of the Ideal : A big flyer that brings things out much faster, what's not to love?

Ascended Lawmage : Initially I thought Lawmages were too expensive to really be awesome, then I realized that they are a flying creature with trollshroud, making them a perfect target for most of my auras.

Skymark Roc : A big flyer that denies my opponent a their blockers and attackers or stopping their mana ramp train to big fatties.

Deputy of Acquitals: A bouncer that can interact with itself, if I get three of these and Lavinia I have created an infinite source of detention.

Enchantments

Martial Law : Though a bit pricey, this constant source of detain earns it deckspace.

Detention Sphere: Busted... just... busted... I want more of these.

Instants and Sorceries

Dramatic Rescue : Cheap bounce for me or my opponent's creatures.

Restore the Peace : Cheap and effective mass bouncing.

Revoke Existence : Cheap removal for 90% of the busted Theros block.

Sideboard

Silent Sentinel: If not for the price this would be in my main board, its ability ensures that I can keep my auras or Ephara on the field.

Retraction Helix : A 1 drop bounce, the issue is that its effect is only temporary.
