Pacifism works beautifully with ethereal armor. Also throwing in one or two Rogue's Passage isn't bad, it could end the game in your favor.

@Pr37z31 Thanks for the suggestion about the Rogues's Passage . I will be sure to include it that is a great card for this deck. I like Pacifism but I'm not sure where I could put it in this deck only because I have creatures that have heroic and benefit from the number of auras as well and it fills neither of that criteria.

You could put Sphere of Safety in your side and take out a few Hopeful Eidolon . They are okay, but the bestow is really expensive. Also Fated Retribution might not be the best choice for this deck, as you really need your creatures to win. I don't think you could come back from killing everything on the board like that, it's really more of a control card. Also you have no card draw, so you are relying on your curve to get you where you need to, which is having a big creature that will hopefully not perish. Also I would mainboard Soldier of the Pantheon in place of one of your one-drops. It is insane and you can buff it with anything but Gift of Orzhova .

Also think about this, you have Hero of Iroas out, pacifism would only cost one white mana. That's one white mana to keep a creature at bay so you can get by safely and have one less thing to defend against.

@Pr37z31 Great suggestions,I appreciate you taking the time to evaluate the deck. For Fated Retribution I had a plan for if everything got wiped out my auras bestowed would survive and then attack that turn but the more I thought about it the more situational it became and your opinion solidified that for me so I have cut it out. I have added Pacifism to the deck now as well. I was hesitant at first because I'm focused on putting auras on my creatures to boost them but I do need control and it is hard to beat a one drop pacifism. As for Hopeful Eidolon I'm not sure what to do in terms of replacing him. I almost feel that Favored Hoplite should replace him because he would benefit from being targeted by enchantments and if he was targeted by ethereal armor his heroic would make up for him not being an enchantment creature.Thoughts on that?Soldier of the Pantheon is awesome but before I deal with him I would like to get your thoughts on hoplite vs eidolon.

Pacifism counts for your Ethereal Armor buff.

It's up to you honestly, regarding the Hopeful Eidolon /Favored Hoplite thing. The eidolon would probably be fine in this deck since you are running Hero of Iroas , it jsut depends on if you need more enchantments for buffing Ethereal Armor (just playing Hopeful Eidolon will buff the effect). I would playtest with both choices and see where you end up. Good luck!

I personally like Hopeful Eidolon or Gods Willing over Favored Hoplite

most def, i'd mainboard soldier of pantheon over favored hoplite and figure out a way to throw in some gods willing.

by the way does it hold its own against removal?

February 9, 2014 4:54 p.m.

MTGfanman says... #12

@swamplurker89 I keep Soldier of the Pantheon in the sideboard just because I feel like he is more suited for adjusting against a multicolored deck and because Gift of Orzhova cant be used on it. Removal isn't usually a problem and I have been going back and forth about Brave the Elements vs Gods Willing and felt like the heroic trigger was more applicable to this deck so your comment has helped me solidify that decision.

for sure, ive only been running gods willing for the scry, but i feel that i'd get more use out of brave the elements.

and i guess it does trigger my fabled's heroic but by that time i use it he should alreadry be a pumped up with madcaps and ethreal armor. so i feel like i could get more through if i ran brave.

I love the idea of hexproof. Used to play Geist of Saint Traft , Invisible Stalker etc version. What do you think of Spear of Heliod instead of Ajani, Caller of the Pride ? Ajani is so easy to kill, but people often don't pack enchantment removal, at least only in the side.

Spear is a nice gun to remove critters that hit you. People will often delay attacking you if you have the 1WW open.

Voice of Resurgence can be good to discourage people who want to counter your enchantments.

@Gop Thanks for the suggestion, I also was a huge fan of Geist and Stalker as well. I would get Voice of Resurgence as it's a perfect fit for this deck but unfortunately I'm not willing to spend 30 dollars per card for it haha. Ajani, Caller of the Pride has served me very well so far but Spear of Heliod is definitely a good suggestion depending on the circumstances to sideboard in.

Add Selesnya Charm . It's one of the better charms, with all of it's abilities being playable.

February 22, 2014 10:13 p.m.

MTGfanman says... #19

Selesnya Charm is in the sideboard already to be main boarded against an aggro deck.

Mainboard at least two. even if you can't do anything with it's other two abilities, you can flash in 2/2 vigilance for two, which is still a good deal. It also deals with gods well and can take out opponents blockers/attackers, although Rootborn Defenses might be better for that.

Gharnef says... #21

cookiex is right about the charm. You even have 4 Mortal's Resolves to take out to make room for them.

February 23, 2014 11:10 p.m.

MTGfanman says... #22

@cookiex and Gharnef, this is meant to be an anti control deck to deal with u/w and mono black control decks specifically because they are the two front runners in terms of popular decks right now. With that in mind I'm running Mortal's Resolve to deal with Supreme Verdict and all of mono black control cards. I understand how awesome Selesnya Charm is but I still feel like it would be better suited to be main boarded against an aggro deck. I'm not trying to be stubborn but I would like your thoughts now that I have provided a better description for the deck which I should have done in the first place.

I run a Deck called Oversized Selesnya and someone recently alerted me to the fact that it has no defense against Master of Waves , and your deck appears to have the same problem. Consider Time to Feed for sideboard and Polukranos, World Eater mainboard for those problems. lacking straight removal, Pit Fight would be good.

February 24, 2014 10:19 a.m.

Gharnef says... #24

Well, you have to remember that control isn't the entire meta and that, more often than not, you'll still be getting more use out of Selesyna Charm than you would from Mortal's Resolve most games.

That and there's the fact that, apart from Verdicts that can be easily played around, Gods Willing is very much the superior card to Mortal's Resolve.
