baby? i would not play thalia in the mb, it seems to hurt you more then many other decks, remove them to the sideboard and replace them with 2 more Skirsdag High Priest. does the tithe drinker do anything? i dont see a reason so i would remove them and add 1 more bloodthrone vampire, and 2 reckoners (if you have them, or 2 Tragic Slip s if you dont), so basically i would do:

-2 Thalia, Guardian of Thraben , -3 Tithe Drinker for +2 Skirsdag High Priest +1 Bloodthrone Vampire and +2 Boros Reckoner , this is just my opinion, so you dont have to do this

You don't want Thalia, Guardian of Thraben , Immortal Servitude , or Act of Treason . Replace Tithe Drinker with Knight of Infamy .

Here is a deck that is based off of the Aristocrats, without DGM cards (as I don't want to experiment the first day). Mortal Kombat (Revamped and Revisited!)

Drop Bloodthrone Vampire completely, replace with Falkenrath Aristocrat .

theonyc I was thinking the same thing with Thalia. I am planning on adding more Skirsdag as I can get them. Lots of people have been questioning the tithe drinker but honestly it has really given me a lot of value in terms of hanging with aggro and midrange by trading and life gain. Also I'd love to add two more reckoners once I can get my hands on them; no explanation needed on that one.

Shabobi Thalia is going to sideboard, but Immortal Servitude has an element of surprise that I really like and has won me a few games on the spot. Ex: sack my board with Cartel Aristocrat into Blood Artist and then bring everything back the same turn since mostly all my creatures are 2 drops. I also see what you are saying about Act of Treason but I like the flavor and usually am able to steal, attack, and sac anyway. Also I'd love Falkenrath Aristocrat but I can't afford any.

What do you guys think of adding a couple Serra Avenger to push Immortal Servitude ? Just a thought.

just to say, if you are going to trade/buy reckoner, now is the time since he's at a new low (12$ average, not including when he was printed). also don't play Serra Avenger , its a terrible card that doesn't work, and the Immortal Servitude gives you a nice edge that no one could expect. also the early aristocrat decks did play Act of Treason and i think its worth playing if you are on a budget.

I'll keep the reckoner advice in mind. What do you think of Loyal Cathar  Flip ? It gives my a bonus to sac, much like doomed traveler.

If you're going for a two drop white card, use Precinct Captain or Elite Inquisitor .

no, too hard to cast

That's my point. It was more-of in response to colez

I would think that you shouldn't play any of the three, 2 white is too hard for this deck to cast with 9 nonwhite lands. Also for the sideboard I would remove Blind Obedience , Gather the Townsfolk , Skullcrack , Tragic Slip and Ultimate Price . i would then replace that with 2 more Sin Collector , 1 more Slaughter Games , 2 more Crypt Incursion and 1 more Tormod's Crypt . Also if your budget can afford it I would replace the Tormod's Crypt s with Rest in Peace s.

My reasoning is to use the Tormod's Crypt /rips against control, and the Crypt Incursion and Tormod's Crypt /rips against reanimator. that extra life and surprise exile can waste their turn. Sin Collector s kill control and Slaughter Games is good against everyone.

i would take out the Blind Obedience because it doesn't do much, the Skullcrack because you aren't necessarily racing them. The Gather the Townsfolk doesn't do much. The removal is nice but would be better as a Slaughter Games or Sin Collector

Thanks for the comments! I will be updating the deck this weekend.

theonyc what do you think of Beckon Apparition in comparison to Crypt Incursion ?

May 2, 2013 10:18 p.m.

The Doctor says... #15

Crypt Incursion would be better. While it does have a 3 CMC, it allows you to wipe their whole graveyard, not just single cards. Assuming this is a sideboard card, it's much more useful then Beckon Apparition .

what he said, my friend was playing a zombie token deck and tried the zombie version of the card (sorry, blanking on the name) and he totally hated it. he started using rip

Also, the Gather the Townsfolk is going to be a Midnight Haunting as soon as I can get my hands on another one.

I want to add a Boros Charm to deal with Supreme Verdict but I don't know where to put it. The charm would also give me extra value with the double strike every now and then on a Tajic, Blade of the Legion or pumped Bloodthrone Vampire . Also I like the 4 damage functionality. A little burn to the face can't hurt.

I wouldn't worry about Verdict, it's going to cost them because of the Blood Artists and your wall of tokens. Terminus is the much bigger problem and indestructible doesn't stop that. The other modes work well enough, but it's hard to find something to cut for it.

I agree, but I was beat twice last weekend by two RWU Flash. What would you recommend to beat those decks?

Also I'm thinking about a one-of Civic Saber for fun to go with Cartel Aristocrat and Tajic, Blade of the Legion . It even pumps Boros Reckoner too.

theonyc says... #22

Nice job! And I wouldn't add Civic Saber

Actually I think Legion's Initiative could be good but I also realize it doesn't play nice with tokens. At least it's better than straight up losing them I guess.

colez says... #24

Hmm...that could be interesting. It doesn't really help me much more than boros charm right now (besides against Terminus ) but it could be good after Innistrad rotates out. Also I haven't seen Terminus too much.
