Baby you set my World(on)fire

Commander / EDH Control RBW (Mardu) Voltron

Jbubbarb

Have you ever had that crazy ex-wife that was super toxic and always ended up getting the both of you in trouble?

Did you end up losing all of your stuff while she somehow ended up being just fine, thriving even?

Well this is her deck. I hope you hate it as much as me.

It starts out like any bad relationship does, with her appearing to play an unassuming Voltron deck.

You think 'Oh that's cute. She'll probably kill some one, and then die.'

You'll then see her ramp and color fix until she has a decent board presence. She starts interacting with other people's things meanwhile protecting herself.

Nothing really seems off, maybe an unusual amount of fetch lands for a 3 color deck, but you think nothing of it.

Sunforger hits the field. You get a bad case of deja vu and warning bells start going off in your head for some reason.

She assures you it's just for protection and she only has it in here because it's a good tool box card.

You feel relieved, but you can't shake the feeling like something is off.

Like why is she running a Boseiju in a Voltron deck?

You see her bring her old fling, Godo but he gets countered. Thank god, you hate that guy.

It comes to her turn and she draws. A smile comes over her face. It gives you pause because it seems a little too wide for her face.

She taps 9 mana, making sure to declare that a mana from Beseiju is being used. You immediately get nauseous because you notice that no matter how big that smile on her face gets, it somehow never reaches her eyes.

The eyes of a monster.

'I cast Worldfire.' The table goes quiet, seething with rage. You all can't believe she came here playing a Voltron deck and plays something to just reset the game.

You're so angry that you almost don't notice her say 'holding priority'.

She taps her last two mana and unequips Sunforger. She casts Teferi's Protection/Eerie Interlude/Semesters End/Ghostway.

You should have listened to your gut when that Sunforger hit the field.

Her previous sing song voice turns into the cackles of a mad witch as she gleefully watches all of you exile everything you built and could potentially have.

Only your libraries remain and you each draw for your turn and pass. Her turn comes around and she kills you one by one with your measly 1 life totals.
