Sideboard

Maybeboard

This was my first ever commander deck. I built it with the cards in my collection and about $20. Over the years, I've added a card here and there, but it's largely stayed the same. All the while, my other decks got more expensive, more competitive, and more fun. This deck languished unplayed for years, but a recent "$50 budget" tournament gave me a good reason to bring this back. I changed a few cards (notably removing River Kelpie and a few other budget-breaking cards in favor of common sense cards like Mulldrifter), but it ultimately still feels tight.

The general idea of the deck is to play as many creatures as possible with +1/+1 counters, get Marchesa on the field (if possible, this should be done only when there is way to give her a counter, such as a Helium Squirter, Opal Palace, or Unspeakable Symbol), and then let the creatures enter and leave the battlefield at will. The deck is designed to survive board wipes and to even capitalize on them.

I will keep this deck in my collection and do my best to keep it at or around $50 for future tournaments.
