Glaring Spotlight only stops targeted removal, doesn't do anything against board wipes

July 10, 2014 11:05 p.m.

Like asasinater13 said, Glaring Spotlight doesn't do anything against Supreme Verdict. Hexproof means that a creature can not be targeted, but Supreme Verdict hits the whole field. It doesn't target any creatures. Fated Retribution? You're running R/U. Not White. Annul is a sideboard card. Dissolve is better. Turn/Burn is useless against Aetherling. I guarantee you. Because I've never seen a control player with an Aetherling on the field and their mana tapped out. Turn still can't target it if that's what your idea is. Since its on the stack, your opponent still maintains the right to tap 1 to exile Aetherling. Therefore, Turn/Burn is nulled.

Alright, thank you for the suggestions, I will update it asap.

I would suggest Bident of Thassa rather than Hammer of Purphoros. The haste isn't as necessary as the card draw. I would also recommend Chandra's Phoenix . Good card, plus works off of your whole deck practically.

I appreciate the switch to Bident of Thassa , I will update it shortly with that in there. The problem with Chandra's Phoenix is that it is going out of standard a week or so from today, it was actually my best option until I found it wouldn't be supported. Flame-Wreathed Phoenix at the moment serves it's substitute with the adaptability of being a 5/5 flyer for 4. Although i will still buy a few for casual play (Chandra's). Thank you for your suggestions I will be right on it!

Core sets don't go out when the next year's core set comes out?
