Deathstroke2791 thank you so much! Great suggestion! Never heard of it, below budget, draws cards, and has high power! I'll definitely add it when I buy my next wave of cards!

I run Brion too. I'm currently rewriting my primer. Then I'm gonna put it back to where it's open to public view.

Deathstroke2791 Yeah I saw it on your profile but the page was gone when I clicked it haha! Let me know when you get it back up! Also, huge fan of your Battle of Wits and Phage the Untouchable EDH decks, so it's nice to meet you!

Knollspine Dragon is a nice looking card! Thanks for the suggestion!

I'm looking into building a Brion Stoutarm deck, and there is one suggestion I would make in accordance with this theme, and that's Might Makes Right, it doesn't take anything, but ideally it gets something each turn. Also Solemn Simulacrum, yadda yadda.

This deck seems really cool! Since you are gaining control of a lot of creatures, you might want to look at Risky Move. It would most likely do more harm than good, but it's pretty funny, and in the end, that is what counts right?

Fellwar Stone, Mind Stone, Star Compass could replace 3 mana rocks

If you liked kor cartographer you'll love Solemn Simulacrum

Aetherflux Reservoir can't find a home in here???

having Bloodshot Cyclops as redundancy seems good

Gift of Immortality wasn't good?

Marshal's Anthem could be good

Everflowing Chalice is another good mana rock

I really like the Knollspine Dragon in your maybeboard. maybe over crumbling colossus?

Thawing Glaciers is great for mana hungry commander decks.

What was wrong with Spinerock Knoll? seems great for you deck

ZekeR, SirLag, hoardofnotions thanks for the comments you guys!!!!

Solemn Simulacrum will be replacing the cartographer next time I buy cards!

Risky Move seems too... perilous

hoardofnotions special thanks to you good sir!

I like those mana rocks! I'll probably pick some up to replace Fire Diamond etc.

Phyrexian Processor took the spot of Aetherflux Reservoir. I like to gain my life back.

Bloodshot Cyclops is in my sideboard, haven't really felt the need for him yet.

Gift of Immortality was nice, but cut for more aggressive stuff. Could find it's way back though.

Marshal's Anthem was cut for more card draw. Could also find it's way back it.

Actually, I was thinking that I'd cut the colossus for the Dragon! Read my mind!

Thawing Glaciers is slightly over my $5 budget, but it's on the radar for when I eventually upgrade this deck.

I thought spinerock world be great too, but I was wrong. I mostly exiled lands/mana ramp, and most of the creatures I'd want to cast would have to come after combat, thus making most of my creatures useless(say, Spark Trooper is the only good target, doesn't work). Anyway, I think I just don't have enough good targets for it, and got seriously screwed three times in a row.

Thanks again for the comment guys!

Bloodshot Cyclops is basically a second commander for this deck. Add in a Thornbite Staff, and you can really wreck house....

This looks like the right balance between gimmicky nonsense and consistency, great job! I would consider adding some evoke and evoke-like creatures like Spitebellows. for 3 mana, you get a removal and a 6 power creature that can be thrown by using brion's ability when evoke's trigger in on the stack. The same applies to champion triggers, such as the one of Nova Chaser. This last card let you keep your "sacrifice at the end of the turn" elementals (which can later be thrown) or, if needed, can be casted on a brion-only board and thrown right away. Also, recursion cards like Emeria Shepherd or even Emeria, The Sky Ruin may turn out to be useful in situations where more gas is necessary.

seredward Thanks for the comments! Really appreciate it!

I looked up the Evoke cards, and the only one that seemed to fit is the one you said, Spitebellows. It's on the list!

Nova Chaser has been on the wish list for a while, currently trying to trade with someone for it.

Recursion like those always seemed to slow for me. I prefer Feldon of the Third Path-like cards and straight card draw.

Thanks again!

Have you thought about Quicksilver Amulet it won't trigger any when cast abilities but you can cheat out really big things early for Brion fuel

Talk about throwing stones. XD in all seriousness, this is a fantastic deck. However, it doesn't seem quite as fast. Have you considered all the damage doublers like Gisela, Blade of Goldnight and Dictate of the Twin Gods? Even Gratuitous Violence and Inquisitor's Flail feel like they should be included in here since it's mainly a Boros beat-'em-up theme deck. XD

Either way, it's gotta be fantastic to play with. Hope you have fun.

xander11 welcome back, friend! Quicksilver Amulet is kinda over budget, but on my list for trading. Prioritizing Sneak Attack first.

Workman4137 Yeah it's not the fastest deck, but it works well for my(very casual) meta. Gisela is too expensive-both money and mana. Dictate hurts me too and in multiplayer pretty much kills me. Also I don't usually have the mana for the flash to be effective. The Flail is nice, but only for combat damage. I do most of my damage from Brion. Gratuitous Violence I will pick up, however.

Thanks a lot you guys!!!!

Ah, I see. However, there are ways to prevent damage to you

Glacial Chasm is a very nice way of saying, "nope" to your opponents dealing damage to you, as well as Solitary Confinement, and other fun shenanigans that prevent you from dying so quickly.

Problem is, if someone plays Humility or Overwhelming Splendor's you, ya done.

Just some food for thought. w

for some reason i always end up back here for more swanky suggestions aha this round i got Madblind Mountain for you. Albiet strange at first glance but pretty nifty when you think of the applications, say you just Terminus/Hallowed Burial it lets you shuffle your creatures back throughout your deck instead of having them all stuck on the bottom. (or if an opponent fateseals you or something which is less common) also commons with the next suggestion of Mistveil Plains which is a way for you to recur in this deck most Boros decks have some issues with the recur factor. which then you could use Madblind to shuffle it up higher then just the bottom of you deck. Since they retain basic land type they count towards landtype mattters effects as well.

July 17, 2017 8:21 p.m.

bushido_man96 says... #17

They are Plains/Mountain, but they are not basic, so keep that in mind. Cards like Blood Moon will wreck them. With that said, I think they would make good additions to the deck. Thanks for spotting them, as I will likely add them to my maybeboard!

TheHamster, bushido_man96 welcome back friends!

Interesting cards... will probably pick up Madblind Mountain because it's cheap and see how it goes. I may also add more "mass tuck" effects to go along with it. Know any of those?

Blood Moon and cards like it aren't present in my meta currently... but I'll keep it in mind.

July 17, 2017 10:23 p.m.

bushido_man96 says... #19

Yeah, its just something to keep in mind. Anything that searches for a basic land won't be able to search those out, either. But they still look like solid additions.

July 17, 2017 10:32 p.m.

TheHamster says... #20

Madblind Mountain is also great. At least in my meta where some people take hour long turns, if you are just sitting there doing nothing you can always just activate it to shuffle your library to give you something to do with your hands as well hahaha forgot if it was suggested or not but Martyr's Bond would also be pretty swanky in here (a little over your $5 budget range but should be easy enough to find one to trade for) to add gravepact efffects to your flings can be pretty brutal.

July 17, 2017 11:25 p.m.

bushido_man96 says... #21

I like Martyr's Bond. Its almost a white Grave Pact.

30th upvote. I've never been into EDH but I like the concept and price tag. Is it any good? Also: what about Thran Dynamo and Coldsteel Heart?

July 23, 2017 2:03 p.m.

Suns_Champion says... #23

YamishiTheWickedOne Thanks for the upvote!

When you ask 'Is it any good?', do you mean EDH as a format or this deck in particular?

Thran Dynamo was over budget at $9. Coldsteel Heart is okay, might pick one up!

Thanks for the comment!

July 23, 2017 2:14 p.m.

I meant the deck. I'm not expecting to work miracles with an $80 EDH but I want a cheap deck so I can focus mon competitive modern and pauper on the side. Otherwise I'd run Olivia Voldaren or Isamaru voltron. Just because I like their mechanics and they're actual decks. My budget is all going towards modern where I spend 1-2 grand per deck.

July 23, 2017 2:22 p.m.

Suns_Champion says... #25

YamishiTheWickedOne I'd say it's pretty good. Packs a mean punch for the $80. I've been able to hold my own in 1v1s, 5 player games, against tribal, voltron, control and tokens. Played great games against a Sliver Overlord deck and a Zurgo Helmsmasher deck. i'd say win rate is around 60% actually. But most importantly It's a lot of fun to play IMO.
